- Monitoring and supervising all site activities to ensure that work is completed in accordance with the approved shop drawings, contract specifications, method statements and HSSE requirements.
- Attending meetings and discussing project details with clients, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Reporting to Construction Manager for daily activities and work progress of the site.
- Prepare method statement for client approvals for all types of civil/Structural related activities.
- Assist in preparation and implementation of the main project execution plan.
- Ensure that the work is carries out in accordance with customer-approved quality control Plans, AFC drawings, construction scope of work and specifications.
- Define the construction strategy to be the most efficient in term of cost and schedule.
- Responsible for implementation of the scope of work related to construction Execution of the works in conformity to the project specifications, Scope of Work, and as per the approved Project Schedule.
- Monitor and report to the Project Manager all the civil steel structure details, including progress, and critical issues.
- Review man-hours and duration forecasts to complete construction.
- Analyze construction productivity and schedule performance.
- Raise the technical query TQ if any details, deviation required from the drawing and spec.
- Ensure all manpower’s are following project HSE regulation at site.
- Site construction schedule, equipment’s, and man-hours estimation during the project tendering phase with collaboration with QS and tendering department.
- Supervision, control and monitoring all earthworks and civil activities.
- Provide technical support during construction and operation of facility.
- Prepare and update project logs for submittals (PQD, MS, RFI, NOI…etc.) and call of orders.
- Answer to engineering and construction contractor’s queries TQ.
- Check the red mark up and approve of final ‘as built’ drawings.
- Ensure conformity of construction activities as per the quality management system, standards and specifications.
- Handing over and monitor all civil works inspection at site with main contractor and client.
- Ensuring sites meet all legal, health and safety HSE recommendations.
- Review and approve vendor deliverables related to civil and structural engineering.
- Develop detailed design layout according to the requirement of the client.
- Provide technical assistance and advice on all construction matters.
- Evaluation of the Contractors Quality manual in conjunction with the QMS.
- Review the contractors Inspection Test Plan and all QA/QC documentations.
- Ensure the contractor has a current Internal Audit plan/schedule.
- Conduct Audit on contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure the contractor have adequate QC personnel on site during all production shift operations to perform the inspection and tests.
- Ensure the contractor uses an approved material.
- Review and comment on subcontractor’s pre qualifications.
- Review and comment on the contractors testing and commissioning plan/procedure.
- Site visit and evaluation of sub contractor’s premises.
- Issue site walk quality issues report to contractor on bi weekly basis.
- Review the corrective actions proposed by the contractor, respond/follow ups and close out procedure.
- Review and respond to the preventive actions proposed by the contractor.
- Maintain a Sample room for approved materials in accordance with the contract.
- Coordination for local authority approvals.
- Preparation of Monthly reports in coordination with all disciplines.
- Checks and reviews Inspection and Testing Plans (ITP).
- Monitor the disposition of all non-conformance reports (NCR), corrective actions and preventive actions.
- Monitor all inspections and laboratory tests (Soil, concrete, steel ...etc).
- Perform all internal and external audits on behalf of the company’s management.
- Monitoring progress and performance of construction contractor during the execution of work.
- Check and validation of the permit to work needed by the subcontractor to start the activities of the day.
- Control and conduct a site preparations and civil works for early works and main works.
- Evaluate, coordinate, and manage a rapid response to all technical queries.
- Responsible for the execution of technical and construction aspect of the project.
- Ensure that the project start on time and end within the estimated duration.
- Evaluate technical alternatives, resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines.
- Review, approve of method statements and Inspection test plan.
- Coordinate engineering activities between facilities supervisors, managers, and local authorities.
- Conduct work site inspections and ensure quality of work meets contract standards.
- Ensure the construction subcontractors perform activities with the latest approved for construction drawings.
- Schedule the construction work and laying down the preferred construction methods.
- Support project management in successful project delivery within scope, schedule, and budget
- Ensure that subcontractors are following project HSE regulation.
Assist construction team to resolve the technical problems met on site.
- Coordinate with different disciplines like piping, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation.
- Review and approve contractor documents, such as drawings, calculation reports and material take-off.
- Organize site visits for inspections and sketches engineering preparation.
- Update of civil and structural drawings further to site modifications reported.
- Prepare details of shop drawings required for various structures erected on the site.
- Ensure the conformity of construction activities as per standards and specifications.
- Provide immediate solution of problems at site for on on-going issues.
- Analyze comment and approval drawings prepared by subcontractors engineering offices.
- Support the workforce with structural technical advice and assistance.
- Prepare quantity take-off and technical specifications for materials procurement.
- Ensure that rules, regulations, and guidelines are follows without exception.
- Ensure that subcontractors are following project HSE regulation.
- Provide technical assistance and advice on all construction matters.
- Prepare the weekly and monthly progress reports for civil and structural activities.
- Coordinate with different disciplines like Piping, Electrical, Mechanical and Instrument.
- Review and answer the engineering and construction contractor’s queries TQ.
- Ensure that the engineering progress is in accordance with the project schedule.
- Prepare technical reports at various projects stages including feasibility, conceptual and detailed design.
- Review and approve of contractor’s materials proposal.
- Check the red mark up and approve of final ‘As Built’ drawings.
- Analyze the technical offers of different bidders and participate in the evaluation.
- Review contractor’s deliverables for civil and structural engineering.
- Conduct site visits including construction oversight and inspections.
- Ensure that projects meet legal guidelines, health and safety regulations and environmental directives.
- Civil Structure Design and analysis of concrete buildings and steel Structure.
- Stewards civil and structural design aspects of the Project with other disciplines on the projects, as necessary.
- Reports to Lead Civil & Structural Engineering.
- Monitors, reviews, evaluates, and provides necessary guidance to team members and the FEED, EPC Contractor(s) and all 3rd-Party Services Providers throughout the project phases while ensuring that the facilities are constructed per the scope, meeting all standards and specifications and safety factors within the time and project cost as approved.
- Participates in contracting and procurement activities to ensure civil and structural engineering requirements are met from pre-qualification, preparation of bid invitations and requests for quotation, bidding, evaluations, contract execution and performance, and contract(s) close-out.
- Participated in design reviews including risk assessments, various-stages of 3-D model reviews and HAZOP/HAZID related to civil and structure engineering.
- Troubleshoots civil and structural engineering issues during engineering and construction while analyzing the maintainability, operability and schedule and cost optimization.
- Conducts studies of load cases and methodology in developing design loads (wind, seismic, blast, operating, and transport etc.) for the department.
