KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS WIHLE AT (KAMC)

• While working in the Outpatient Clinics as an Assistant Supervisor, I faced a rather extensive
situation with patients in some of the clinics. Due to the courtesy of some of the physicians in the outpatient clinics, they allowed their patients to attend the clinic without an advance
appointment. By doing this, we faced a huge number of walk-in patients. This caused
unusual delays for patients that already had an advanced booking for the same clinic. Medical
records of these walk-in patients need more than one hour to be received in the clinic. So, for this reason, multiple delays were happening. It was hard for me to tackle this problem.
However, by using Access Microsoft Office, I did create a software database which was
linked with the Medical Record Department. We then put in place agreements with the physician to refer all walk-in patients to our office at least one day prior to their proposed
clinic time in order to add his/her record number to our Access database. Ultimately, we could
control the capacity load and limit the numbers of walk-in patients for those physicians.
