a. Responsible for Risk Management of the overall Western Tunnelling Package alignment ($2.2 Billion).
b. Responsible for Commercial Management of Parramatta Station Box portion ($250 Million) and Westmead Station Box portion ($200 Million).

Commercial Management

• Manage the negotiation of contracts and agreements, risks, settlements and the assessment of claims and negotiations for dispute resolution.
• Provide strong commercial advice on issues relating to commercial/contract management and risk management to assist decision making in line with wider business objectives.
• Minimise the exposure to liability and financial risk by ensuring all contracts are appropriately drafted and administered, effectively negotiating terms and conditions where applicable.
• Provide strategic input into contract development to maximise efficiencies in the delivery and operations of projects.
• Act as a key point of contact on commercial and contract compliance matters from project tender through to project completion, both internally and externally with relevant clients and partners.
• Provide input into the evaluation and selection of relevant sub-contractor/suppliers, including the contract award of sub-contracts.
• Oversee the management of all sub-contractors’ payment application, claims and disputes.
• Assis in the continual development and implementation of the commercial management policies, procedures, and systems.
• Resolve all contract issues and conflicting requirements in a timely manner and report regularly to senior management on the status of all contracts as required.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, Provincial and local laws at all times.

Risk Management

• Manage the operational risk management framework (ORMF) for the project that identifies and assesses risk events and potential control gaps that may threaten successful project delivery.
• Engage with the project-based functions to ensure the effective implementation of the ORMF that will identify, assess, monitor and mitigate operational risks.
• Work closely with project managers, HSEQ and Assurance teams to support the engagement of proactive risk processes on the project.
• Identify and analyse potential risks that may occur throughout construction to prevent and mitigate costly potential delays and disruptions.
• Lead the development and deployment of risk management strategies and oversee their implementation, managing and advising on improvements to risk management practices on the project.
• Provide ongoing assurance across all functional areas of the project and develop monthly risk reporting to the project leadership team.
• Maintain a monthly reporting schedule that presents insights and recommendations to the project leadership team.
• Identify opportunities to enhance risk management and control framework practices.
• Support and promote a positive culture regarding HSE, Environmental Management, Sustainability, People, Community and Quality by setting clear standards and acting as a role model to others.

Responsible for complete head contract and subcontract management for the project including:
a. Set up cost codes and streamlined feasibility Budgeting and initial Forecasting with actuals.
b. Implemented cost control and identified reasons for budget variances
c. Leading the end-of-month (EOM) financial close process including preparing and uploading accruals to JDE, finalizing cost-to-date (CTD) and developing the Job Cost Report (JCR).
d. Phasing variance and Earned Value variance reporting
e. Collating and development of monthly commercial report
f. Monthly forecast updates and identifying variances to approved edition and previous monthly update.
g. Updating and managing the change event register (CER).
h. Subcontractor contract negotiation and contract drafting
i. Responsible for the commercial management of SMTF South and Southern Dive Portion ($125 Million), HV-Bulk Power Supply ($140 Million) and SMTF - PS2 ($50 Million) portions of the overall Sydney Metro Line-Wide Works ($1.8 Billion)

a. Amended the Cost Plan for project re-appraisal post Covid-19 pandemic outbreak to secure no-loss outcome. Increased project margin to 13% from initial 4%.
b. Prepared Budget allocations with emphasis on providing accurate feedback to estimation and senior management.
c. Secured Extension of Time (EOT) of 20 days on the project with an additional 30 days of cost & time secured post Covid-19 stoppage of the project

a. Increased margin from tendered 4% to 8.5% across all projects. b. Monitored all financial aspects of the contract to ensure projects secured the desired revenue. c. Developing and issuing draft progress reports to clients on monthly basis to enable client acceptance prior to production of an FDC tax invoice. d. Preparation of monthly reports for the project Manager to provide accurate details of the projects financial and WHS status. e. Administration of the initial phase of the project in a timely manner to ensure contractors were made aware of calls for expressions of interest; plans and specifications were provided, and quotes were correlated. f.
