The programme was aimed at imparting formal development training to people employed in the development sector at various levels of responsibility. I was taught the basic development principles and the programme has a natural base in the study of those disciplines that are generally accepted as contributing to the various activities of an all-round development practitioner. Specifically, it aims to blend practical work experience with the theoretical aspects underpinning development studies.
This course of study looked at the chemical, physical, biological, and social factors affecting the human race. Studies often focused on sciences such as physics and chemistry, in addition to human health law, environmental safety, toxicology, wastewater treatment, and more. One of the greatest benefits to studying environmental health is that it educates a person on how to better care for themselves, the environment, and the people around them in a variety of situations. In an age where becoming green is increasingly important, the knowledge this type of degree can bestow is extremely valuable. Key among the thing I was exposed to was waste management ,air pollution prevention ,hazardous waste management ,occupational health and safety ,meat inspection and hygiene . I also did a project on food hygiene practices for large scale food preparation facilities.
