Design Thinking Project – Linköping University Based on the IDEO/Stanford design process in product development, student teams followed the design thinking process to implement innovative solutions to real world challenges. The challenge assigned for the class was to create a strategy for a Swedish company to launch its new product into the market. Steps taken to achieve the objective: - Space Exploration: interviews and benchmarking to understand the challenge and the end users' needs and wants. - Ideation: brainstorming ideas. - Prototyping: planning and development of ideas and how and where the test will take place, quantity of people needed for testing, and development of the prototype into the physical world to explore options and gain empathy from the users. - Testing: testing the prototype to refine the solutions and get feedback from the users. At the end, the team was able to gain a clear idea of the users and market. Therefore, the team designed new packaging as well as branding for the new company product. Master’s Thesis – Linköping University (LiU Due to increased university – business collaborations and universities’ interest in internationalizing, the thesis discussed the topic on “How does a university internationalize through collaboration with a high technological industry?” Purpose of this research: to identify the set of factors that differentiate a regular internationalization approach from the one through collaboration with industry and thereby showing the relationship between university internationalization and university-business collaboration. Theoretical contribution: university-industry collaboration could be a possible rationale for university internationalization.
