As a Resource Efficiency Engineer, I am responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing energy-efficient solutions. I work closely with our oil extraction plants, oil refinery, and biodiesel production in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region to identify opportunities for reducing energy consumption, increasing energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint, and implementing best practices in natural resource management.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of developers as the Product Owner for the development of a Smart Energy Management System, optimizing steam and electricity consumption at production sites in the EMEA region. Monitor the performance of oil extraction plants, oil refinery, and biodiesel production in the EMEA region, utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and production cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and value creation. Support and participate in the justification and defense of CAPEX projects aimed at reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Utilize mass-energy balances for technology development, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring, ensuring optimal resource efficiency. Provide technical assistance to facilities in the EMEA region for production process troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime Coordinate and support energy resource, water, and greenhouse gas emissions reporting in the EMEA region, both internally and externally, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
Achievements: Development and implementation of the Smart Energy Management System at eight oil extraction plants in the EMEA region, resulting in a significant reduction in gas consumption and emissions.

Leading and supporting the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Asia) region for oil extraction plants, oil refinery, and biodiesel plants. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze data and identify areas for improvement, leading to the development and implementation of sustainable practices and technologies. Maintaining accurate and detailed records of energy consumption, savings, and project outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability
Achievements:

Coordinated and led the successful implementation of the Water Resource Management Program at four facilities in the EMEA region Developed and implemented an online system for monitoring heat exchanger efficiency at various plants in the EMEA region.

As a trainee:
Studied logistics and production processes, gaining in-depth knowledge of preparation, extraction, steam, and electricity production as a shift operator at the site. Acquired a comprehensive understanding of corporate standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and requirements, ensuring adherence to quality and compliance standards. Monitoring process parameters and conducted quality control measures, ensuring optimal production efficiency and product quality. Actively participated in continuous improvement initiatives, implementing innovative solutions that enhanced operational effectiveness and efficiency. Compliance with and promotion of EHS standards.
Achievements: Successfully planned and executed the annual shutdown of the extraction site in summer 2020, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maintaining safety protocols. Led the replacement of piping systems as part of small capital projects, improving operational reliability and reducing maintenance costs. Lea capital project for replacing a problematic conveyor to the execution stage, contributing to enhanced productivity and streamlined operations.
