My role is to speak to the relevant departments about what they need the new software to be able to do. I then write the project specifications and hand it over to the developers (external). I also do the QA in iterations as the software is being developed.
When the software is ready to go live I hold knowledge transfer sessions to teach the users how to use the new software.
I started off as an intern developer but soon moved over to the testing side of things. After a few months of showing my worth I was promoted to project manager.
I worked with asset management for large companies. I had a team who would input and match data into our system. My role was to check these data to make sure everything was matched and entered correctly before sending reports to clients.
