I worked as an Accounts trainee in a firm which falls under Accounting & Auditing for 6 months.
The major role is to prepare financial reports by complying with the relevant standards, conceptual frameworks, ethical standards and audit principals. I was able to build and maintain healthy relationships and work as a team. Additionally, able to manage audit assurance, company secretarial practices and other accounting related business activities. I also gained practical exposure in taxation, accounting and management discipline learnt in theory.
I was able to improve critical thinking and analytical skills, organizational skills, ability to handle MYOB, MS Office packages and QuickBook.
Further, I was able to make suggestions for some of the issues faced at work in order to use the latest versions as to switch to Cloud-Based Accounting software in order to gain the competitive advantages.
The degree offered me with a great knowledge and practical experience in the field of Accounting & Finance. We were given assignments, quizzes, examinations, presentations, internship program, independent research project in order to test our knowledge in all aspects. Also, I was able to develop my soft and hard skills through involving in various extra curricular activities
