I am responsible for the inspections of gearboxes and cranes as preventative maintenance and condition monitoring. Corrective maintenance of the milling plant to minimize downtime. I am based at Central Maintenance Department. I'm assigned to fix mechanical breakdown in the plant within the milling plant, routen maintenance of the production plant, installations, repairs at the workshop preparing spares and overhead crane maintenance together with weekly inspection on the condition of our mechinery for safety and reliability reasons, recording the findings so as to schedule maintenance where it needed.
Preventative and correctative plant maintenance inclusive of changing bearings, taper locks, sprockets, pulleys, chains, v-belts, conveyors and alignments.
I was training as a mechanical fitter, all the necessary skills i needed to be a good technician the breakdown is on the logbook.
Doing plant maintenance inclusive of changing bearings, taper locks, installation of various lock devices, sprockets and chains, belts and pulleys, pumps, gearboxes, different types of conveyors.
Workshop duties inclusive of dismantling of machines for internal and external inspection, qoute, order required spares/components, action plan and repairs, assemble, test or pressure test the following gearboxes, pumps, valves, pressure vessels, compressors and a little bit of fabrication of chutes.
I was servicing small engine machines.
I was there for a full period of the apprenticeship that ended February 2023 training as a mechanical fitter.
