Managed and coordinated the delivery of super heavy cargoes, primarily cold boxes/air distillation columns, from the China, India and the EU for delivery via road and barge to various sites within the US, Canada and Mexico while taking into account the variations in the permit process, value of the cargo in addition to the varied terrain and obstacles along the transport routes.

Primary expeditor for emergency air charters to bring repair equipment and supplies to the Aruba Refinery. Charters included the need for two An-124 flights filled with cement line pipe and fittings to replace damaged piping for the water system which had shut down the refinery. Additional back to back air charters were needed for stopple equipment to repair a ruptured steam line and bring a section of the plant back on line.
Managed the inland freight and dedicated weekly ocean shipments for the buildings and materials needed for construction of a 1500 person capacity man camp.
Coordinated with Valero legal to obtain any necessary export licenses in compliance with US Government regulations.
Planned, coordinated, monitored and executed international and domestic movements of the company’s material to the Aruba Refinery on a 24 hours a day / 7 days a week basis.
Supervised twice-weekly dedicated aircraft shipments and bi-monthly ocean shipments to Aruba, in addition to special air and ocean shipments required to meet refinery requirements. Set up and managed foreign to foreign air charters.

Buyer Balad, Iraq
LOGCAP III. Supported the US Government & Military reconstruction efforts in Northern Iraq. This territory included bases at the cities of Taji, Tikrit, Mosul, Al-Asad, Balad and Baqubah.
Promoted from Assistant Buyer to Full Buyer within four months of arrival in country.
Often called upon to execute procurement actions when a short turnaround time was required. Buyer most selected to try or figure out a new procedure both technical & administrative and then trained the rest of the buyers in the new process. Established procedures and specifications for ordering modular office trailers prewired for electricity and internet access. Established a procedure for ordering welding and compressed gases through the US Military.

RIO Project. Worked with US & Iraqi Oil companies on the “Restoration of Iraqi Oil” project to re-establish and expand oil production & refining capacity within Iraq. Tasked with purchasing OEM material, 20+ years out of date, or its equivalent to restore production and generation of several million dollars a month in production.
Commodities purchased ranged from hand/power tools up to megawatt generators, forklifts, backhoes and other vehicles and heavy equipment.
Involved with the expediting department and the various vendors to coordinate deliveries. Coordinated combined shipments with other buyers to reduce freight costs.
