Rehired in my previous role within GM Finance for a short term period of 6 months.
- Developed, compiled and tracked Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Dashboard reports to monitor business performance against targets, strategies and trends.
- Prepared monthly GM Income consolidation to senior management with variance to budget analysis and commentary.

Promoted to a distinct role with dual reporting lines to AVP - Market Risk and SVP & Head - Credit Risk & Market Risk, which involved demonstrating capabilities in the following areas:
Financial Analysis & Risk Reporting:
- Reviewed and analyzed key risk exposures (movements & overages, Fx, counterparty risk), limits and their utilization, in view of prevailing market conditions.
- Production and distribution of market risk reports on the Bank’s Capital Market and Money Market investment portfolios analyzing structure, performance and concentration risk, using Murex, Bloomberg and MIDAS systems.
- Collected, evaluated and compressed data and information from multiple sources and communicated findings to senior risk managers as needed.
- Generated weekly and quarterly risk overview packages that were reviewed by senior risk managers and business leads.
- Produced monthly market risk compliance reports for 10 International Branches and 3 Business Subsidiaries.
- Assisted in preparation of specialized risk reports and presentations, based on requests from Board of Directors, Senior Management, the Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE), External Credit Assessment Institutions (ECAI), etc.
Overall Management of Committee meetings:
- Supported the functioning of the Bank’s three apex-level Management Committees, namely,
a) Group Asset & Liability Management Committee (Group ALCO),
b) Group Credit Committee (GCC), and,
c) Investment Committee - Bank Equity (IC-BE)
- Produced market risk reports, collated and presented inter-departmental reports for respective meetings.
- Prepared special submissions on new and modified business strategies and/or products for relevant Committee’s noting and approval.
- Tracked progress of pending action points, directly with Committee members (senior management), concerned departments and apprised the Committees accordingly.
Limit Monitoring & Maintenance:
- Daily monitoring of following exposures against approved market risk limits and mandates:
a) Financial Markets EOD exposures:
i. Fx: Trading (VaR and Stop Loss), open positions
ii. IMM: VaR and Stop Loss, currency wise PVBP
iii. Investment portfolio: total size, concentration risk, credit ratings, etc.
iv. Repo and reverse repo agreements: counterparty ratings, asset ratings, haircuts, issue and issuer limits, tenor limit.
b) International Branch network exposures (i.e. Fx trading and open positions, liquidity gaps, counterparty risk), and,
c) Branch lending
- Monitored market risk limits, validated limit utilizations, gathered commentary and escalated limit breaches to risk managers and business leads.
- Conducted trending and variance analysis to assist in explaining change through time.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining market risk limits, policies and mandates, as per approved lines:
a) Group Financial Markets: investment portfolios and desk limits, authorized issuers, concentration risk limits, approved product lists, lending limits to international branch network, trader mandates, etc.
b) International Branches: Local ALCO mandates
c) Management Committees: Group ALCO, GCC and IC-BE mandates
d) Policies: Liquidity Risk Management policy, Contingency Funding Plan, Market risk policy, etc.
Investor Relations:
- Primary contact for Risk: Responded to credit rating questionnaires (risk section) on quarterly and annual basis, in addition to, special assessments conducted to improve the Bank’s credit rating.
- Compiled risk reports and requisite information for submission to Investor Relations department, within set timelines.
Early career as an Administrative Assistant - Market Risk (Dec 2006 - Sep 2009) and Secretary - Credit Policy & Administration (May 2005 - Dec 2006) in RMD, which involved production of credit and market risk reports and supported the functioning of respective departments.
