 Testing of cables including low, medium &high voltage up to 220kv as per BS & IEC standards

 Testing of instrumentation cables including pair, quad & traid cables as per BS 5308-1, BS 5308-2.BS EN 50288-7

 Test of pilot cables including jelly filled cable

 Conducting tests on samples drawn from incoming raw materials as per the procedures and preparing test reports.

 Conducting in-process and final checks and tests on samples as per the laid down procedures and reporting results to appropriate personnel.

 Maintaining records of various checks and tests conducted.

 Periodic audit of key processes and random check reports to be made available on the network.

 Involved in BASEC, LPCB & KEMA Audits

 Recommending process rework in accordance with documented procedure.

 Releasing or holding cables after test stamping the test status on Drum cards and maintaining records.

 Preparing Cable Test Certificates as and when required by the customer.

 Checking cable material weight of the samples drawn from each lot and preparing monthly material give-away report.

 Calibrating test equipment as per the laid down procedures and maintaining records of the same.

 Calibration of machine meter counters according to plan to ensure correct length of cable at various stages in production.

 Analysing competitor's cable samples and prepares report as instructed.

 Reporting any product or process abnormalities to the Production Supervisor in the shift and TIE.

 Statistical analysis of test results and recommending improvement opportunities to the management.

 Carry out testing required in process trials and provide timely feedback to TM for design verification and validation.

 Perform analysis of defective cable samples for cause identification for in process defects or as part of customer complaint investigation.

 Carry out tests required in customer witnessed inspections and respond to customer questions on the test method/results under supervision.

 Precise location of cable faults to minimize loss of faulty cable lengths during manufacture.

 Fault location at customer site.

 Supervision of end preparation and terminating MV cable end and carrying out Partial Discharge and HV tests on MV cables.
