-Acting as Commissioning and Start-up Supervisor for Maire Tecnimont, EP + Construction Management Company.
-During the construction phase, leading and participated along with the construction company representatives and vendors, the necessary tests and inspections after each stage of construction, to confirm proper completion of works and equipment.
-Define and put in practice the detailed procedures such as mechanical cleaning, blowing and blasting, drying, chemical cleaning, gross air leaks test and high-pressure leaks test for pre-commissioning, commissioning, operational functional test.
-Assist the mechanical completion group reviewing and providing all the required certification in accordance with the pre-commissioning and commissioning inspection, test plan and certification matrix.
-Hand over to Gazprom Neft client and prove functional tests for systems and equipment as per EPC project requirements.
-Team member of tri party walk group during systems P&ID conformity check and hand over, to the client.
-Acting as Commissioning and Start-up Supervisor for Maire Tecnimont, EPC Company.
-Develop and define the detailed procedures with the superintendent for pre-commissioning, commissioning, start up and operational /functional test.
-During the construction phase, I participated along with the client and vendors, the necessary inspections after each stage of construction, to confirm proper completion of works and equipment preservation.
-Assist the mechanical completion group reviewing and providing all the required certification in accordance with the pre-commissioning and commissioning inspection, test plan and certification matrix.
-Define the daily activities and develop the day-by-day plan following the priorities indicated by the Commissioning Manager.
-Perform and prove to the client in concordance with acceptance criteria procedures such as: blowing, gross air leak test, nitrogen leak test, drying and inerting, hydraulic oil flushing and pressure test, flare operational test.
-Hands on pre-commissioning and commissioning of: onshore and offshore oil/gas gathering clusters, oil production wells, gas and water injection wells, wellhead control system, safety valves, chemical injection packages, flare ignition control panel, oil manifolds, gas let down station, gas injection system, nitrogen system, close drain and vent system, etc.
-Hand over to ADCO client and prove the functional tests for systems and equipment as per EPC project requirements.
-Team member of tri party walk group during facilities hand over, and solving punches defined by client.
- Start as Senior control room operator during construction and later on commissioning for FPSO John Agyekum Kufuor, conversion from tanker, join in with Yinson commissioning team at Keppel shipyard, Singapore.
- During the construction phase, I participated along with the client and vendor, the necessary inspections after each stage of construction of a module, to confirm proper completion of works and equipment preservation.
- I also participated in the review and acceptance of operation and maintenance manuals provided by vendor, and to develop required procedures for commissioning and first start-up.
- During commissioning I was involved in testing the DCS loops, systems logics, cause & effect diagrams, Fire & Gas detection and extinguishing systems for vessel and topside, unit shutdown, process shutdown, emergency shutdown, prepare to abandon facility logics, all based on Kongsberg DCS platform.
- Preparing the FPSO for sea trial and sail away to the production field location.
- During sail away testing all equipment/systems and preparing for first oil.
- After anchoring the ship and preparing for operation, I participated in the dewatering of the wells, commissioning and starting the systems necessary for the treatment of crude oil.
- Previous experience gave me the opportunity and ability to apply my skills and qualifications in a new and challenging position as Senior Industrial Skills Trainer for Operation.
- After a brief initiation and training program where I learned information transfer and pedagogic techniques I became qualified trainer.
- As a qualified coach I enjoyed teaching on the site and in the classroom. Fresh accumulated experience gave me the ability and skills to motivate my students and apprentices in their training and achieve their full potential.
- Start as Control room operator during commissioning on FPSO Firenze and join in with Saipem commissioning team to test the DCS loops, systems logics, cause & effect diagrams, Fire & Gas detection and extinguishing systems for vessel and topside, unit shutdown, process shutdown, emergency shutdown, prepare to abandon facility logics, all based on Siemens PCS 7 platform.
- Preparing the FPSO for sea trial and sail away to the production field location.
- First start of systems in order to test and set them for production, fresh water generators, stripping fuel gas compressors, ground flare system, instrumental air compressors, sulphur removal unit, gas dehydration and TEG regeneration unit, sea water pumps, fire fighting pumps, separation unit, stabilizer unit, dehydration unit, water treatment package etc.
- Join in with Alstom commissioning team to filing, flushing, starting and testing the systems during pre-commissioning/commissioning period.
- Operating the power plant for Turbine, BOP and Electrical systems.
- Shift in charge, Control Room Operator, operating the plant through the Alspa P 320 DCS during commissioning and tests period.
- Ensure proper running conditions of all systems within the limit of the process and in safe conditions.
- Training the client operators.
- Maintaining good communication/collaboration with Boiler and FGD operators, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation technicians.
- Reporting all abnormality discovered during field inspection routine.
- Ensure a proper filling of the logbook.
- Using historian system for troubleshooting and first event analysis.
- Charged with operating and maintenance of 3 x 7.9 MW dual fuel turbines; model SGT 300 Tempest manufactured by Siemens and Alstom Generator.
- Monitor plant parameters through DCS screen display, diagnose, and take corrective action on all equipment on the power plant to prevent a major shutdown of Production.
- Carry out planned inspections of power generation facilities and equipment.
- I have worked with and have a good understanding of permit to work systems.
- As are authority for the turbines, control all work permits in accordance with the company's safety regulations, carry out isolation of electrical HV/LV in the case of abnormal conditions whenever the demand is necessary, and inform Electrical and Production Supervisors.
- I perform routine operations such as start up and shut down, change over from service to stand by on gas turbine generators, load sharing, power factor adjustments, auto and manual synchronizing operations, load shedding, power supply restoration after shut down, duty changeover for the air compressors, ventilation fans, gas and liquid fuel filters, gas heaters.
- Perform all tasks related to the operation and maintenance activities i.e. changing fuel, air and oil filters, clean the air filters for the ventilation and combustion system, maintain oil levels, onsite inspection, overhauling the turbines and other associated activities.
- Work alongside vendors and onboard maintenance technicians; mechanical, electrical and instrumentation.
- During maintenance work I verify the components of the turbine and auxiliary systems such as; blades, vents, drains, combustion system, lubricating system, oil filters, emergency and auxiliary lubricating oil pumps, hydraulic pumps, inter stage bleed system, fuel systems, hydraulic pumps, gas fuel throttle valves and actuators, block valves, igniters system, start-up system, variable guide vane system, acoustic enclosure and vent system, exhaust system, gear-box and starter clutch.
- Main Control Room Assistant Operator, Panel Operator.
- Involved in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of all station systems, for Canadian and Italian consortium management, Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant Cernavoda, Romania.
- Carried out routines in zoned areas; turbine, reactor, outside area, work control area, secondary control room, main control room, common services area, electrical area, pump house area.
- Qualified in emergency response related activities i.e. advance first aid, fire fighting, chemical and classic safety response as; emergency team member, emergency team leader, or intervention/evaluation coordinator for emergency events.
- Qualified as; Main Control Room Assistant Operator (Panel Operator) for Unit 1 N.P.P. Cernavoda Romania.
- Qualified as electrical operator, Level IV (Operations of electrical equipment such as; transformers, inverters, rectifiers, battery, EPS & UPS systems, bus bars, power distribution system, MCC, EMCC, PC, diesel generators, generator control panel (GCP), equipment up to 24KV).
- Qualified as senior nuclear operator (team leader) for Nuclear Power Plant (CANDU) this included qualifications as turbine operator, electrical operator, work control room operator, outside operator, reactor operator, Main Control Room Assistant Operator.
- Work control qualified as both work permit holder and work control authority using operating orders, work permits, work request, operating instructions, master flow sheets, operating manuals and safety work plans.
- Since 2003, I attended a training program for authorization as Main Control Room Operator, program interrupted because of company policy changes.
