• Full operational responsibility for a 100, 000 sq. ft. NDC (10, 800 pallet locations), holding over 6000 SKU’s, servicing a customer base of circa 2 million for the country’s largest independent mail order bookseller. Despatching circa 2 million orders per year.
• Management of haulage/delivery contracts, expenditure of £5 million, ensuring the company’s distribution needs are met in the most cost efficient and reliable manner.
• Accountable for setting and delivering KPI’s for all warehouse functions, including: Order fulfilment, Inventory control, Administration, Maintenance and Health and Safety.
• Managing resources and skills within key site and departmental activities, whilst continually monitoring site efficiency.
• Leadership and recruitment of 250+ staff at peak, through a team of Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors.

• Responsible for the Green Field “Start Up, ” of the Distribution Centre, liaising with the construction company and building contractors.
• Recruitment of the Warehouse Management Team including Engineering, Maintenance and H&S Management
• Sourcing of MHE and line assembly equipment.
• Implementation of maintenance contracts.
• Identifying and developing a core list of preferred suppliers and service providers.
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing safe systems of work for all work areas.
• Monitoring warehouse space and predicting on outside storage requirements.
• Sourcing outside storage requirements and negotiating rates.
• Implementing PI and Inventory Control.
• Monitoring WMS functionality and implementing staff training and development.
• Responsible for monitoring all warehousing practices and KPI’s, enabling cost effective productivity leading to the dispatch of 400, 000+ units per week.

• Responsibility for managing circa 150 staff 24/7, across the Warehouse, Stock Control and Administration Departments through a team of managers and team leaders.
• Responsible for supplying all the major retailers and the majority of the smaller retailers with Arla Foods and New Zealand Milk Products, with a value of circa £500 million per annum.
• Responsible for monitoring all warehousing practices and KPI’s, enabling cost effective productivity leading to the receipt, storage and dispatch of 4000+ pallets of short life chilled products per week.
• Liaising and regular meetings with the Aral Foods Logistics, Sales and Account Managers.
• Attendance at the regular Dispatchers and Suppliers in Partnership meetings

• Responsible for quoting on new business, negotiating rates and service level agreements.
• Responsible for raising invoices and managing payments.
• Managed the Contracts Profit & Loss to ensure commercial success.
• Responsible for stock reconciliation.
• Ensuring risk assessments and Safe systems of work were up to date.
• Responsible for staff training and development.

• Responsible for the St Ivel picking operation operating 24/7 across three shifts, ensuring correct stock rotation.
• Managing a team of 100 warehouse operatives through 4 Shift Team Leaders.
• Responsible for the receipt, storage and despatch of St Ivel stock.
• Investigation of all claims and short signed POD’s
• Implementation and maintenance of quality control and audit procedures.
• Ensuring all stock shortages are reported in a timely and accurate manner.
• Producing KPI reports for Contract Manager.

• Responsible for the stock/Admin functions of the Kraft Jacob Suchard contract.
• Supervision of a team of 12 stock and administration clerks
• Organise and implement the weekly stock check.
• Investigate stock gains/shortages
• Investigate short signed POD’s
• Manage staff holidays, sickness and absence

• Working as part of a project team investigating stock discrepancies.
• Producing management reports detailing the link between short signed POD’s and stock losses.
• Attending regular meetings with the customer and the Wincanton senior management team
• Attending retailer RDC’s, observing their processes and procedures for GI and stock receipt
