Inculcating in students the values, culture and traditions of the college.
Address students on moral, principles, social and career issues.
Preparing and delivering lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities.
Integrate competencies, goals and objectives into lesson plans.
Create projects designed to enhance lectures.
Marking work, giving appropriate feedback and maintaining records of students’ progress and development.
Research new topic areas, maintain up-to-date subject knowledge.
Interact with students to induce curiosity, motivate, and provoke thinking, imagination and application of the concept taught.
Develop and use the relevant teaching aid.
Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
Maintaining discipline in the classroom and on school premises and applying appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour.
Running extracurricular sports, clubs and activities.
Communicating with parents and carers over students’ progress and participating in
departmental meetings.
Initiate, facilitate and moderate classroom discussions.
Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
Maintain student attendance records, grades and other required records.
Keep abreast of developments in their field by reading current literature, talking with
colleagues and participating in professional conferences.
Collaborate with colleagues to address teaching and research issues and ensure initiatives are being met.
Utilize library and internet resources.
Serve on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies,
departmental matters and academic issues.
Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed.
Participate in community events.
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Tutor students on an individual basis.
Create positive educational climate for students to make learning fun.
Teach students about the structure and content of the English language, including proper grammar, spelling and sentence structure.
Teach students about different literary styles.
Instruct students on interpreting literature.
Assign books to read, including classics and contemporary.
Provide background on author’s life and works.
Help students interpret literature and poetry.
