Regional Business Performance Analysis member in a position of
the job responsibilities include completion of projects pertaining to the U.S. MultiState Sales and Use Tax vertical. Detailed job responsibilities encompass the following:
•Carrying Tax Research through internal as well as external resources for Deloitte clients from various industries in order to identify the refund opportunities in the area of ‘Sales and Use tax’. Key sub-functions of tax research include:
•Formulating taxability matrices for the client by researching on state sales tax laws in order to maximize the client’s tax refund
•Performing thorough research on taxability of individual items including both commodities and services
•Conducting ‘Target research’ for companies, which Deloitte is pursuing as prospective clients. The deliverable is a crisp company profile highlighting:
•Company’s line of Business
•Company’s financial health
•Company’s management and organizational structure
•Company’s geographical presence
•Reviewing Invoices to identify refund opportunities through following sub-functions:
•Review, cross-check, and classification of vendor invoices
•Analyse the source and destination (in terms of US jurisdictions) of the items mentioned in the invoice to assess their impact on taxability for the client.
•Conducting Compliance Work, it includes:
•Exposure analysis- Finding the tax exposure in each state for the client from the raw data provided from the client, and preparing their respective work papers.
•Preparing Sales and Use tax returns for each states in which they have Nexus.
•Conducting Reverse audit
•Preparing Income tax returns for each states
•Preparing Property returns.
•Voluntary Disclosure programme
•Billing.
•RAR
•Memos
•Reporting to US Managers, Directors & Partners.
•Communicating directly to US engagement team regarding project status.
•Mentoring new professional on tax related tools and applications
•Leading team to successfully complete project in an efficient and effective way
Project Title- Inventory Management at Big Bazaar
Description
•To know the reasons for shrinkages and suggest measure to control them
•To know the inventory process of big bazaar and to see whether they are following the stated process or not, and find the reasons if not following.
