COMMISSIONING MANAGER
Project: HAUD BERKAOUI GAS COMPRESSION STATION - Haud Berkaoui - ALGERIA
The main task as a manager is to organize the work to complete the functional test and the performance test, under safe, high quality conditions, in time and within the allocated budget.
We used 2 centrifugal compressors and 2 piston compressors GE - Nuovo Pignone, then delivered it to Sonatrach as a factory customer in service with complete related documents.
After completion, all the compressor tests, the performance tests and the running test under warranty were performed for 3 months, without stopping.
We negotiated contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, where we managed to reduce the expenses with the management of working tools / equipment, as well as the execution methods and bringing benefits with 12% to the company, while ensuring the continuation and improvement of the services.
During my on-site presence, I went through all the difficulties with successful and there was no rule or safety violation, no LTI, no incident or fatality.
Project - FAO Pumping oil Station AL FAW - BASRAH, IRAQ
As a commissioning manager, I started with commissioning strategies, preparing system priorities, listing down commissioning spare parts and consumables, reviewing the control system, and testing in logical sequence. I revised the plan and the necessities, Commissioning procedure and stabilized QCP Check sheets required. I revised the date and the terms in which I requested the presence of the vendors, with their tasks, I followed and I always looked for improvements for the safety of the work process, and so on.
• Developing procedures for preparation and strategy of Commissioning for Utilities Systems, in order to create the proper sequence of the Commissioning tests.
• Responsible to coordinate the PTW in accordance with SIMOPS - Simultaneous Operations system
• Follow up of the mechanical completion
• Checking and approving the procedures and the documentation of packages
• Coordinating the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
• Set-up the coordination of the Unit tests.
• Coordinating the "Loop checking" activities, the "Logical Safety and Control Process Test" and the "Operational Functional Test" for the commissioning activity and start-up
Due to the site condition the plant was not started, but all whatever was possible we tested and get it ready to start. All the utilities is in service and everything such as BOP (Balance of Plant ) are ready to start.
Project: Kashagan EPC2-Project - Topsides EP Clusters 2 - client NCOC - Atyrau Kazakhstan
As Commissioning Manager I was involve for Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning Planning. I developed the Pre-Comm./Comm. Procedures, adjusting the pre-comm/comm. sequence activities, the departments teams and performing complete tests compliance with the SPITCH system to complete entire commissioning jobs, and clear out the punch to be ready for start-up.
EPC2 is a cluster away from "D Island", where there are 14 wells (7 + 7 in the future).
The EPC2 cluster is a top project, equipped with the latest technology and state of the art equipment in the world.
The project was conduit with successful. All tests has been complete realized with full technical details, with all the safety logic test, functional simulation test as well and ready to start the production.
This project was one more challenge for me, closed with successful, where has been added more experience to my achievements.
Project: FPF1-Project - Platform for the client ITHACA - Energy - UK
Tasks:
• Commissioning Coordinator for entire platform FPF1.
• Preparation of commissioning strategy in order to adjust the subsystems and to populate the GOC (Go Completion) with the associate ITR (check Sheet);
• Preparation of inspection technical reports
• Identification of the milestones in order to verify the commissioning spare parts materials and tools;
• Coordination of the multidisciplinary commissioning team on site;
• Drafting of the commissioning procedures and commissioning plan starting with facility area.
• Coordinate the activities for Instrumentation and Control System checks including the OTP’s.
• Coordinate and gave the proof of safety functionality to Government Company “Lloyd’s”, including the documents for each equipment
• Coordinate the Vendors for the packages to complete the SAT and perform the functional test.
• Coordinate and following the pressure test, flushing the pipes, blowing (drying) and after reinstatement all valves, equipment, leak test of the pipe loops.
I am Oil and Gas Equipments Engineer specialist for EPC, E/I and Control System Engineer for Oil and Gas from 27 years, (more than 11 years I worked overseas), leading the Construction, Commissioning and start-up activity, or Maintenance activity, for Oil and Gas plants or petrochemical plants.
From Feb. 2010 up to now I am with SAIPEM. First year I directed the EPC phase Offshore SAIPEM Angola than after startup the platform in Angola I was relocate to Pointe Noire with SAIPEM- CONGO at the ENI SAIPEM Main Office Engineering Design, such as Sr. Engineering Manager for Offshore.
My work experience has been in: Kazakhstan, Iran, Abu-Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, Angola and Congo.
I have a thorough understanding of the construction plant and operation, with extensive oilfield experience. Good analytical and problem solving skills and experienced in trouble shooting, and am keen to learn and comprehend complex technical concepts.
Strong Interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment and have the ability to work and communicate effectively within multinational teams.

Feb 2010 up to Feb. 2012 Sr. Engineering Manager - for EPC Reliability (revamping) of the CONGO Platforms
After finished the Commissioning and Start-up activities on the platform, SAIPEM have been relocated me as a Sr. Engineering Manager to Main Office in Pointe Noire.
Such as Engineering Manager I was involved to do the Engineering team Coordination, adjust the EPC activity, controlling the EPC documentation, in order to provide the design documents required in different projects belongs to ENI. Also I was involved to compliance the all disciplines, QA/QC also to adjust the Engineering documentation, Commissioning documents as required and the procedure documents for Commissioning and Start-up. I chasing by ICAPS the punch list and clear out by that. I kept in touch with the Client and Contractor to find out the proper solution to be implemented in safe condition and low cost.
I follow-up the maintenance request to be provide the materials documentations as required (issue the data sheet), improve the Control System on the platforms, the technical support for constructors from Engineering side and so on.
ENI SAIPEM Offshore - ANGOLA
EPC Sr. Commissioning Engineer Leader - for MC, Pre-commissioning and commissioning on the platform.
On that Platform I direct the EPC, Installation, Pre-Comm. and Commissioning activity. I checked the documentations, the punch list to be clear out and signed RFC and RFSU Dossiers following the standards and the Company specifications and also logical functional test in DCS.
The platform has been start with successful and is working well.

I managed all Electro- Instrumentation Department for Maintenance, Start-up, and upgraded of the Plants from the Petrochemical Complex. I did manage and control all interfaces of the related discipline with other discipline and design product suppliers (more than 300 persons). More Instrumentation and Control System projects has been directed with successful by me, more Jobs and more responsibilities have been finalized during the time.
