Supervision Construction of HV overhead lines and Substation in Nigeria(National Integrated Power Project)
Employer: Transmission Company of Nigeria (PHCN/NDPHCN)
Responsibilities: Foundations and Concrete works (field quality control). Supervise roads for all construction stages. Review for the Drainage design calculation (estimating the storm water discharge due to run-off across the substation area and provision of correct size of drain which has discharge capacity and flow rate to drain-off the estimated run-off). Supervise construction of Retaining Wall. Supervise drainage construction. Inspect the Site and compare conditions with the Drawings and the Technical Specifications. Report to the Project Manager any matters which may affect the construction of the Permanent Works in accordance with the Contract and any ground or physical conditions on Site which may differ from that recorded or assumed in the design. Ensure that the Contractor complies with his contractual obligations to make all necessary submissions and returns and review these for compliance with the requirements of the Contract. Record on a set of the drawings prepared for the purpose, the actual level and nature of foundations, the strata encountered during excavations and full details of any deviations from the drawings. Draft the Monthly Progress Report for submission to the Project Manager. Weekly Progress Meetings. Hold regular management meetings with the Contractor to discuss methods of construction. Keep records including site diaries, instructions, progress and programme records, measurement and valuation records.
