In my Ph.D., I studied the arrangement and stability of charged proteins on the surface of mature HDL molecules. Using a model of charged curves on a rigid sphere, I found a trivial equilibrium solution of parallel loops. Analyzing electrostatic interactions and bending rigidity, I gained insights into the stability. Through numerical solutions, I obtained post-buckled equilibrium configurations, contributing to our understanding of HDL's functionality in regulating cholesterol levels.
