- Consult with users and evaluate requirements, recommend designs, provide cost Analysis, plan projects, and coordinate tasks for installation of data networks.
- Analysis and resolve technical problems for established networks.
- Plan, test, recommend, and implement network “servers & workstations hardware & software”.
- Provide network documentation, training, and guidance to computing system clients and programmers.
- Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network production problems.
- Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current system.
- Recommend network solutions for short-, medium-, and long-range network projects.
- Install, configure and maintain network components.
- Determine plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout.
- Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, user access, security, software, and file services.
- Establish user profiles, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed.
- Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as systems to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems.
- Work with vendors to resolve complex network problems.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored or accessed by the network.
- Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

- Administer network workstations, utilizing one or more TCP/IP or non-TCP/IP networking protocols and /or one or more MS widows based operating systems and CISCO Systems.
- Evaluate and /or recommend purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment and software.
- Investigate user problems, identify their source, determine possible solutions, test and implement solutions.
- Install, configure and maintain personal computers, file server, Ethernet networks, network cabling CISCO IP Phone and other related equipment, devices and systems. Add or Upgrades and configures modems, disk drivers, data acquisition boards, CD ROM units, printers and related equipment.
- Perform and /or oversee software and application development, installation and upgrades.
- Maintain site licenses for department/organisation.
- Plan and implement network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions, backup and disaster recovery plans, file system integrity and adding or deleting users.
- Troubleshooting networks, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
- Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users on operating systems, relational databases and other applications. Assist users in maximizing use of networks and computing systems.
- Identify utilization patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations.
- Establish and perform maintenance programs following company and vendor standards.
- Investigate, recommend and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimizing network availability.
- Assist personal of other departments as computer resources.
- Answer staff questions in person via phone on all company supported applications.
- Troubleshoot computer problems.
- Determine source of computer problems (hardware, software, user access, etc.).
- Advise staff on appropriate action.
- Serve as liaison between staff and the technology department to resolve issues.
- Work one-on-one with staff on application projects.
- Provide recommendations on company application purchases.
- Document resolutions for future reference.
- Other duties as assigned.
