• Supervise the daily work of protection assistants and ensure the quality provision of protection services in compliance with best-practice and DRC's guidelines
• Does not have direct line management responsibility for staf, but may contribute to recruitment and/or performance appraisal of members of the team
• Lead the recruitment process of facilitators/animators/focal points if any (prepare JDs, advertise vacancies, prepare tests and interview protocols and conduct the interviews in collaboration with the supervising assistants)
• Feed into the capacity building of animators/facilitators/ daily workers if any.
• Implements the manager's decisions through the work of subordinate employees, often playing a role in deciding how to do it; and how to achieve the objective set by the manager.
• Supervise team members in adherence with DRC's supervision framework; hold weekly team meetings to discuss challenges and successes faced in implementation and bi-monthly individual feedback sessions with team members to provide guidance, and constructive feedback and discuss opportunities for improvement;
• Provide age and gender-appropriate and specialized technical guidance to protection assistants. Train and coach all newly recruited protection assistant especially on case management process, the relevant SOPs and the data filing and storing procedures including the usage of Primero and CPIMS.
• Remain abreast of SOPs and best practices at the field, on the national and global level. In addition, ensure all protection assistant are familiar, practice and adhere to International and national protection standards and SoP
• Provide protection related training sessions to external and internal actors if required
• Ensure staf have access to needed trainng, on the-job coaching, shadowing, and suficiently trained and supported to understand the expected outcome of project and activities.and principles of data confidentiality, collections, commnictaion, reporting and entry on DRC's database
