• Issue & develop (9) SEC/National Grid SA standards & specifications based on the input from internal customers from the company departments & external customer as manufactures & contractors.

• Aware about general technical requirements for transformers, GIS, MV switchgear, RMU, Protection system, surge arrester, overhead lines & power cables system as well as telecommunication system SDH, PDH, DWDM & fiber optical cables.

• Participate in Pre-Qualification for the electrical products which are proposed by the manufacturers to ensure their compliance to National Grid SA technical requirements.

• Communicated with manufacturers to ensure their capability to design & develop certain technical requirements & improvements needs by the company either for maintenance or operational purposes.

• Attend the Type tests, Routine Tests, Factory Acceptance Tests & Special Tests in different International Laboratories like KEMA in Netherland, EGU in Czech Republic, ZKU in Czech Republic, VIKI in Hungary, Kinectrics in Canada, KERI in Korea and CESI in Italy.

• Visited different manufacturers in worldwide as (Converter Transformer, Alstom in Brazil), (Transformer Bushing, Alstom P&V in Italy), (Air Insulated Switchgear, Alstom in Italy), (Sensor applications, AP sensing in Germany), (Cable Joints & Terminations, PFIESTER IXOSIL in Switzerland), (Glass insulator, SEDIVER in Italy), (Power transformer, Areva T&D in Turkey), (Power Transformer, HYANDAI in Korea) & other manufacturers inside and outside in the kingdom.

• Aware about the system to reserve the testing with international laboratories & ensure implementation of the testing activities as per customer requirements.

• Aware about customer & international requirements for the testing of Transmission Equipment’s.

• Witnessed type test for electrical equipment supplied from different company like TYCO, HYUNDAI, SIEMENS, ALSOTM, Riyadh Cables, SEDIVER & ALFANAR.

• Study, review & comment on the inspection test plans (ITP) & test reports.

• Audit Factory plants to ensure the implementation of Quality Management System in their factories and their compliance with Saudi Electricity Company & ISO 9001 requirements.

• Participated in building high relationship by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the manufactures & the company to establish long term partnership aims to improve the engineering & design, exchange the knowledge & training & development of the company engineers.

• Project Manager for Installation the intelligent Line Monitoring System with GE Company in National Grid SA network.

• Participated & studied various major failures of equipment in SEC/National Grid SA system.

• Member of HVDC project in National Grid SA. Also, built internal procedure to qualify the manufacturers which are expected to participate in the projects under ALSTOM, SIEMENS & ABB to ensure their compliance per National Grid SA requirements.

• Participated in different conferences as Speaker to present the National Grid SA expertise in advance technology deployed in the transmission network as well as speaker in conference for Saudi National Committee to present importance of standardization.

• Participated to monitor the quality of SEC/National Grid SA projects & ensure their compliance with the requirements of standards, specifications & quality.

• Participate as team member on Quality Team in the department on subjects:
 Reduce the technical differences in SEC/National Grid SA Standards.
 Enhance the procedure for database of manufacturer’s information.
 Enhance the Procedure to upload the names of manufacturers on approved/qualified manufacturers list.

I worked in testing & commissioning group in third expansion project in Power Plant-8 for Saudi Electricity Company. Major work was to perform the required testing & commissioning activities supervised by Saudi Consult Services for transforms (2 MVA & 2.5 MVA), current transformers, voltages transformers, medium voltage switchgear & MV & HV cables. The following activities had been involved:

• Review the Single Line Diagram (SLD) for 132/13.8 kV Substations & U/G cables lines.

• Involved in Pre-Commissioning activities in Third Expansion Project for Power Plant-8 (South of Riyadh)

• Support the team to perform Pre-Commissioning activates for Current Transformers, Potential Transformers, MV switchgears & transformers by using CPC100 & Megger equipment.

• Prepare the final reports to get approval from Saudi Consult Service to submit these reports for end user “Saudi Electricity Company-Generation”.

• Participated in different training sessions for Safety, Health & Quality.
