Led Bank’s operational portfolio (development projects) in Infrastructure (Transport, Energy, Municipal, Water, and Wastewater) worth $18B, and Agriculture and Human Development (irrigation, education, health) worth $9B in the Bank’s 57 member countries; mandate covered the entire project cycle: preparation/development, appraisal, procurement/implementation, and completion/evaluation
• Introduced Public-Private Partnership Financing business (portfolio >$4B), including staffing, corporate governance, business processes, and procedures
• Drove Bank’s efforts in resource mobilization forlow income countries by setting up an innovative $2.5B Blended Finance Facility with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to finance development projects in low income countries; now fully functional under the name Lives and Livelihood Fund (www.isdb.org/llf), it doubled concessional financing envelop from $350M - $700M / year
• Led the Bank’s efforts in resource mobilization for member countries by setting up an innovative $5B Concessional Financing Facility with the WB and UN to finance development projects in middle income countries affected by conflicts and refugees; now fully functional under the name Global Concessional Financing Facility (www.globalcff.org) with many operations in Jordan and Lebanon
• Oversaw the Bank’s work with MDB community, UN agencies, G7/G20 Task Forces, and interaction with academia and think tanks in various fields; led IDB in organization of the annual Global Infrastructure Forum, part of the Financing for Development stream of the SDG agenda, and led engagement with Board in advancing the Bank’s strategic and operational agenda
• Established cooperation with development partners in developing strategic partnership frameworks that increased the leveraging power of the Bank and enhanced its visibility as a trusted development partner; led the Bank’s efforts in raising partnerships with AsDB and WBG into strategic cooperation agreements

Played a leading role in setting up a Private Sector university in Jordan (Al Isra Private University)
• Managed difficult trade-offs between academic and business considerations of running a successful and profitable University; started as Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering (1994), then Head of Department (1995 - 98)
• Led the establishment of the Civil Engineering Department and its accreditation exercise, including development of the Study Plan (Syllabus and Curriculum), recruitment of academic and administrative staff, and establishment of academic facilities; the Civil Engineering Program was accredited on schedule and within budget before the graduation of the first cohort of students (class of 1998)
• Enhanced Academia-Industry collaboration by actively engaging with the consulting industry, providing consulting services to leading regional and international consulting firms; clients included development institutions such as the World Bank, IDB, Arab Fund, Kuwait Fund, EIB, etc.
• Advised the Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Transport, and Ministry of Municipal Services of Jordan on key transportation issues
• Published numerous papers and was a frequent speaker at regional and international conferences on topics as wide as Engineering, Economics, Education Technology, and Cooperation between Academia and Industry
Safety Programs and Research Engineer with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways responsible for highway safety in the province of British Columbia, introduced innovative cooperation program in traffic safety between UBC and the Government of British Columbia
• Led the Government team in negotiating with the University the academic, administrative, and financial aspects of the Program
• Worked with leading university professors and researchers to formulate Masters and Ph.D. research proposals based on real-life problems faced by the Ministry of Transportation and Highways, recruited top talent students from around the world and co-supervised the students throughout their research work (as Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, in addition to my position as Research Engineer with the Government)
