• Currently working on Capacity enhancement Project of Ammonia, DBN (Debottleneck to increase 20% production rate of ammonia with a final production target 1800 MTPD Ammonia.
• Working on Project conceptualization, basic project development and Detailed Engineering both from technical & commercial perspective. Basic Engineering working with Haldor Topsoe (HTAS), with detailed engineering working with FW (USA), CNCEC and others.
• Reviewing Proposals from different vendors and involvement in technical correspondence with vendors and licensors..
• Working on Waste Gas Boiler, Waste Gas Booster Compressor, Cold Box, Reformer Main & Aux Burners Evaluation project, with technical correspondence with vendors and also in house evaluation.
• Working on New Cooling Tower Project, Evaluation of Existing Cooling Tower Capability using CTI Toolkit.
• Remained involved in the Catalyst unloading, loading, reduction activities during ATA-2014. Replacement of Primary Reformer Catalyst, the pressure drop profiling and loading. Desulphurisers, Syngas Dryers, LTS Guard Bed media and catalyst loading and unloading.
• Preparation of Process Data Sheets and Process Packages for Process Equipments and Instruments.
• Reviewed/Developed PFD's, P&ID's and process data sheets from vendors.
• Worked with other project team members for development of layouts, input to safety studies, and other engineering functions.
• Rating of different equipment like heat exchangers, pumps for performance evaluation,
• Performance evaluation of cooling water heat exchangers by through Aspen EDR and also using Hydraulic study for determination of exact flow rates.
• Development of process design specifications by using simulation tools such as HYSYS, and design software such as ValSpeq, HTRI, Firstvue, Fisher, PEL, instrucalc and KORF.
Responsibilities and Experience Includes:
a) Process Development:
• Working on New Initiatives, Modifications in view of process improvement, Variable Cost Reduction, Energy resource Conservation.
• Plant Performance & Process parameters Continuous Monitoring, Optimization and analysis utilizing “Aspen IP21”.
• Product quality Control Optimization and Strategy Development.
• Carrying out Process Investigations, Problem Solving and Root Cause analysis.
• Developing design philosophies, equipment datasheets, Engineering Drawings (PFD & P & I Diagrams) for Projects and modifications.
• Working on Debottlenecking and rate adjustments.
• Performing Pipeline network Hydraulic studies (Aspen Hysys Upstream, KORF, PEL), Control Valves sizing (ValSpeQ, FirsVue), Relieve Valves sizing.
• Development of Steady State Process Simulations; Aspen Plus, Aspen Hysys.
• Vendor Document Review and Correspondence.
• Developing and reviewing the Standard operating procedures.
• Instrumentation and Control support to instrument team, DCS (DeltaV) controllers tuning and Logics development and Process Automation.
• Good understanding of related ASME, FW, ASTM & API rp’s, codes & standards.
• Variable Cost, Efficiency Calculations, CAPEX and Loss Account Preparation.
• Performance Monitoring specifically Sundyne Pumps, Centrifugal Air Compressor (20 MW, 150, 000 Nm3/hr & 19barg pressure), Distillation Column, Absorber, Heat Exchangers, Dryer, Filters, Swing Bed Absorber, Reactor etc.
b) Process Safety:
• Participating in HAZOP Study as a Process Engineer.
• Carrying out Safety Audits (Safe and UnSafe Act (SUSA)) of Complete Plants.
• Ensuring successful implementation of ICI - Responsible Care Management System (RCMS) .
• Carrying out study in DCS, PLC and control logics development to ensure safe & smooth operation of plant and to have effective alarm and trip control.
• Developed plant operating and trials procedures covering complete HSE study.
• Job Cycle and operational audits.
• Lead Auditor in Q3 & Q4 2013.
• Carrying out PHA and risk assessment also utilizing ICI Process Safety Guide for process and operational evaluations.
• Carried out multiple Safety drills (Toxic, Fire etc), with participation as auditor/observer.
c) Process & Operation Support:
• Technical support to Operations department during start-ups, shut-downs, plant optimization and trouble shooting
• Plant Monthly, Daily Performance and utilities consumption report Issuance.
• Ensuring the smooth operation of reactor, crystallisers, Distillation Column, Absorbers, Filters (Sinter, Press, Rotary Vacuum, Ama filter), Steam Dryer, Absorber, Air Coolers, Heat exchangers, Compressor, Pumps, Control Valves etc.
• Plant Process & Operation Control and Management.
• Ensuring conformance to site Engineering and Safety HSE & S Procedures.
• Plant Start-up and Shutdown Management.
• Monitoring Shift Operations and ensuring Plant Integrity and Smooth Operation.
• Awareness of PTW (Permit to Work) system.
