I am Currently working with Turkish solid waste management company. My job responsibility includes Supporting Top Management in the QHSE Policy and Guidelines issue, Supports the Top Management in the Organization roles and responsibilities definition, for what concerns safety aspects. Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
Assists the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
Conducts safety audits both internal and external.
Takes part in accident / incident investigation.
Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
Carries out any in-house safety training.
Carries out safety audits on Sub-contractors.
Liaises between Clients on safety related issues.
Safeties related engineering input into new projects and modification programs.
Participates to HAZOP meetings prior to procurement and installation activities.
Performs Risk Assessment.
Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.
My job responsibly is taking care of Environment, Health and safety issues of industry. To maintain highest standards of Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) at site by providing training and orientation regarding specific hazards related to job, Participating in Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and eliminating potential threat, Provide awareness among employees about fire hazards, electric hazards and its control, Making a Job Safety analysis (JSA) of newly started jobs, Maintains waste water, air emissions and noise limit according to OSHA’s & NEQS standards, To maintain daily records of Accidents/ Incidents and maintain a daily injury records, Coordinate with Clients, Consultants and Head Office, Preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly EHS reports for all stake holders, Preparation of Emergency Response plan (ERP), Improvement of Environment and Safety, also implementation of HSE policy, To take ownership, implementation, Auditing and certification including ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, ISO 9001, WRAP, GOTS, LEVIS TOE, C-TPAT, STR and Social compliance
• Advice and assist management on HSE matters, to ensure implementation of HSE management system.
• Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans.
• Coordinate accident / injury investigations within area of responsibility
• Ensure periodical inspections / of various safety and lifesaving equipment, firefighting equipment, breathing apparatus.
• To coordinate HSE training of employees.
• Monitor emergency mock drills.
The Programme in Applied Environmental Science at focuses on natural conservation, water resources, environmental health and assessments as well as sustainable management of natural resources. The courses address future environmental challenges from different perspectives where ecological and environmental knowledge and green innovations are the tools towards a sustainable future.
