responsible for the running of Confucius Institute, whose mission is to promote
Chinese language and culture in the UAE.
The major responsibilities, events and projects organized are:
l Manage and supervise a team of 7-10 Chinese teachers to provide Chinese language
teaching to Zayed University undergraduate students as well as other programs outside of
ZU, provide guidance in improving teaching quality and outcomes using technology in
Chinese courses.
l Organized The 16th
Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for university
students in the UAE in 2017, which was the first time this event was held in the UAE. It
has since become an annual competition attracting UAE students to showcase Chinese
language skills and Chinese cultural understanding. The 2020 competitions for university
students, high school and junior high school students, and elementary school students
attracted more than 400 students from 50 schools.
l As a member of the specialist team convened by Ministry of Education in the UAE in
2017, I participated in a preliminary study in the implementation of introducing Chinese
language instruction to public schools in the UAE, being involved in identifying the
needs of schools and production of study report regarding introduction of Chinese to
public schools, development of Chinese framework and coursebook in 2017, the selection
of first batch of teachers, and training of teachers.

business plan for these two enterprises. Coordinated and negotiated successfully with
Ethiopian Public Enterprise Supervision Bureau in entering the Joint Venture contract
between Shanxi Agricultural Department and the two enterprises.
