Lead team of four Instrument Mechanics, one Instrument Technician, and four Laborers to execute maintenance schedules according to SAP task status reports. Coordinate flow of information to internal and external stakeholders. Calculate billing charges and record expenditures against annual budget. Design PLC panels and supervise construction, PLC programming, and CitectSCADA programming by staff. Meet with engineers and senior managers to update status of key projects. Utilize SAP to control maintenance orders, load breakdown work orders, order equipment, and approve invoices.
Key Accomplishments:
• Upgraded field instruments, which resulted in 50% reduction in call-outs.
• Improved vacuum ice maker efficiency by 33%, upgrading its capacity from 30 tonnes-per-hour to 40 tonnes-per-hour.
• Tuned multiple PID controllers, resulting in more refined control outputs.
• Supervised instrument installation for Hard Ice Plant turnkey project.
• Responsible for nine Industrial Vacuum Ice Makers (Soft Ice), three Industrial Ammonia Ice Makers (Hard Ice), 12 Refrigeration Plants, five Industrial Air Compressors, one Salt Mixing Plant, 17 Industrial Cooling Towers, Drinking and Machine Water Reticulation, and all above-ground SIEMES PLCs and HMIs.
Performed routine maintenance and project work on equipment such as ventilation fans, refrigeration plants, pressure reducing stations, bulk air coolers, and other machinery at Hard Ice Plant. Met weekly with staff and contact engineers and site managers to assess project progress. Supervised all PLC programming, CitectSCADA programming, and fault finding activities. Set up and configured servers, maintained network, and installed security cameras and software.
Key Accomplishments:
• Project manager for instrumentation during new Ice Plant installation.
• Replaced grey PLC panel wiring with colour-coded wires, resulting end faster repair times because faults were easier to find.
• Upgraded PLC panel on bulk air cooling fans, significantly reducing downtime due to equipment failure.
Served on offshore platform, performing routine maintenance and installation of equipment and instrumentation. Maintained fire and gas loops, as well as gas, smoke, flame, and heat detection equipment. Calibrated instrumentation used to measure flow, level, pressure, temperature, control valves, and vibration, all of which was critical to ongoing safety of onboard personnel. Performed standby duties as required and served on emergency response team, conducting firefighting and search and rescue operations.
Key Accomplishments:
• Conducted troubleshooting on status lamps that continually blew fuses, identifying proper fuse ratings to correct the issue moving forward.
