Key Tasks:
•Helps to roll out/implement control procedures.
•Under supervision of the Department Manager, conducts internal control reviews/audits of specific areas of the business as per audit plan. Follows up on audit recommendations to ensure correct implementation.
•Assists in conducting the annual Internal Controls overview visits.
•Follows up on new developments in business areas and new administration and accounting systems.
•Assists with consultation on control matters.
•Assists the IA Department Manager to anticipate internal control problems.
•Assists in the development of audit software to support audits.
•Assists with the audits of various functions.
•Participates in audits of development work.
•Assists the IA Department Manager in training new hire
Control over asset inventory and movement as well as maintenance (from procurement/acquisition through disposal).
Key Tasks:
•Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
•Assign tag numbers to fixed assets.
•Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
•Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
•Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
•Conduct periodic impairment reviews for intangible assets.
•Conduct periodic physical inventory counts of fixed assets.
•Recommend to management whether fixed assets should be disposed of.
•Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
• Represent the company during any audits that involves fixed assets.
