I am working now as a night drilling super visor and well site drilling engineer. These are a brief description of the jobs has been done in the above mentioned duration with related job title.
• Review & checking drilling program. Make sure drilling program is including the following subjects:
(well objectives and targets, well datum level, expected TD, time Vs depth graph, location and target, none standard operation, potential hazardous operation (over pressure, shallow gas, collision risk, possible H2S, expected lost circulation zones, unusual casing string weight, etc), offset well references, expected pressure with depth versus pressure prognosis chart and table, leak off test requirement, hole deviation and survey requirement ( as applicable), target tolerance, drill string vibration, casing wear, BOP requirement and test pressures for each section, well head specification, casing program and design summary, mud program, cementing program, logging and evaluation program, formation characteristic and depths of expected hydrocarbons, hydraulics, new technologies, well control procedures, time-cost graph, work order number, well cost estimation, AFE, and time & cost planning details.
• Well schema. Checking deviation, drilling fluid, and casing, cementing, surveying and logging programs.
• Planning drilling operation.
- Receiving senior drilling Engineer or drilling section instructions.
- Checking well head and related accessories.
- Choosing bits, bottom hole assembly, drilling parameters. Run software programs to optimize drilling parameters and hydraulic.
- Checking casing design program/monitoring casing wear, pressure testing, potential related well control hazardous and precaution requirements.
- Preparing cement program, cement job instruction and checking lab recipe and doing all cement job calculations.
- Prepare and checking emergency fishing tools and equipment, preparing fishing assembly, doing all fishing calculation required and preparing fishing job instructions.
- Checking and controlling mud program, drilling fluid system and chemicals required.
- Controlling deviation from the program getting the approved change from head of Drilling operation and the drilling engineer or the duty engineer out of office hours.
- Ordering the tools and equipment for drilling process in time. Invoice the service CO to be on location with required tools, equipment and persons required.
- Controlling hole deviation, directional operation, survey / logging and evaluation program. Actual and planned one, remedial actions requirements
• Planning ahead, and preparing all call out faxes required to get all tools, equipment and personals.
• Checking tools and equipment arrived on rig site in time. Check there specification to make sure are fit for propose.
• Controlling day to day operation. Ensure that all operation is performed according to the plan & the company’s stander procedures, in safe mode.
• Preparing drilling instructions and making sure are understood by Rig or Service Company’s crew. Charring pre job safety meeting.
• DRILLING FLUIDS: Controlling & monitoring and maintaining the drilling fluid properties in accordance with the drilling program. Controlling routine mud testing and advise of any related problems.
• HSE, audits/investigations, meetings/minutes, reporting.
• Controlling well / drilling operation cost for cost-effective operation.
• Created well file. Filling all paper work.
• Attend / charring rig site meetings. Reporting / write minutes to the drilling section. Doing morning call.
