The Department i am working at is called Revenue Management. In this department, We basically do Demand Analysis, Flight Analysis (also known as inventory control) and Flight Performance Reporting.
1. Demand Analysis
Taking a specific station, we collect data, organize, analyse and forecast future demand. and also evaluate the major markets that are important to the station. After that we control the fares levels to ensure we get the optimum revenue. With this, we basically insure revenue optimization, cost minimization and Profit maximization. This is done with the help of different Revenue Management Systems like PROS, Sabre Air Vision Revenue Management System, Sabre Reservation System, Microsoft Office tools like Excel and other aviation industry systems.
2. Flight Analysis (Inventory Control)
Here depending on past data collected from successive years, we forecast future no shows and go shows. After that we use the data to sell more seats above the capacity of the Aircraft considering no shows. We do this with help of the Revenue Management Systems mentioned on item number 1 and Microsoft Office Tools.
3. Flight Performance Report (FPR)
After Flights have departed, we generate a report on how the flight has performed. We do this with the help of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word and other Microsoft tools.
While i was in school i was able to score the 1st best grade from my department and the 2nd from the whole university. Thus i was granted a medallion for my achievement. But there are lots of honors i received even though they are not supported with valid documents.
