Overview: Full responsibility for site air process section comprised of 3 Atlas Air Compressors and 4 Desiccant Dryer, as well as a Closed Loop Demin Water Cooling System for the compressors. I conduct full theory and practical training and assessments for all personnel on the mixing area (raw materials and e-tools), Theory/Practical Polypropylene/HDPE training on ZSK 170's and ZSK 300 Polymer extruders, DCS training on Yokogawa Control System for board technicians, and I also conduct monthly raw material stock take, tracking and reporting of plant scrap and start up material.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess the added value of the work request
• Determine if the requested work can be performed within the plant / department. If it is a maintenance job route the work to maintenance for coordination and execution.
• Ensure the Management of Change process has been followed.
• Ensure scope is complete and minimum work order requirements are met.
• Informs and coach the originator of a work request if rejected.
• Prioritize the work request using knowledge of plant's / department physical condition, the PPM program and budgetary constraints.
• Manage the Maintenance Active Backlog.
• Review work status with service providers and originators and adjust schedule as required.
• Actively participate in the schedule update meetings.
• Decide which jobs are to be included in the schedule.
• Communicate schedule to plant/department personnel for equipment preparation.
• Ensure that the work process is followed.
• Collect process data for improvement purposes.
• Measure Active Backlog status (weekly)
• Measure effectiveness of work requests
• Coach Operate Plant personnel to obtain 'value added' work requests
• Technical / process subject matter resource in the individual's area of expertise.
• Coaches Plant personnel to resolve technical Operate Plant issues.
• Performs or assist in process related Root Cause or failure analysis.
• Enhances front line skills and knowledge through coaching on process, equipment, engineering, etc.
• Identifies areas for improvement and network with technical resources that are identifying Most Effective Technology.
• Creates leads and, assists improvement teams, and performs work with Expertise Centers on issues relating to their area of expertise. (i.e. work with reliability engineer to resolve mechanical reliability issues.)
• Participates as required in audits, customer visits, provide support to address and resolve customer needs.
• Works with Process Engineer role to identify permanent plant process changes
• Procedure Coordinator and owner of all procedures for operation area's
• Coordination of Maintenance and Operational activities regarding equipment repairs
• Start up and Shut Down Coordination
• Do standby duties as per standby schedule
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate an assigned portion of the process unit, including utility areas, PP mixing, PP extrusion, PP extrusion DCS: either manually of through automatic control, complying with safety, health, environmental, and housekeeping standards.
• Monitor and log daily round sheets to make necessary adjustments and safely maintain production.
• Troubleshoot equipment and/or process problems in order to identify needed corrections or improvements.
• Start up and shuts down chemical process equipment according to established practices and procedures in order to begin or cease production in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Ensure smooth operation of day-to-day activity and perform ad hoc duties as required from time to time.
• Issuing safe-work permits for various jobs.
• Completed yokogawa DCS training.
• A Shift Senior.
• Crisis and response leader (shifts).
• Extruder machine setter.
