Coordinate with O&M Management and Site Managers to identify needs and provide assistance to address Health and Safety.
Develop a thorough understanding of the company safety program and each of the program activities.
Apply, administer, implement, assist with, monitor, and account for all aspects of the company safety program.
Communicate safety requirements to managers and employees.
Coordinate with management of the facility on regulatory interpretation, timely internal and external reporting, and overall safety and health compliance.
Conduct internal safety and health audits and incremental inspections of the facility to ensure compliance.
Hear & resolve employee & management safety concerns/address safety issues
Conducts audits to evaluate district HSE processes and creates action plans accordingly.
Develops and evaluates the effectiveness of the district/project emergency response plan.
Monitors and evaluates the execution of the environmental plan for the district.
Conducts risk management assessment of trade contractor safety performance and communicates findings to the appropriate stakeholders.
Reviews internal HSE policies and practices to ensure they are current, appropriate, implemented, and communicated to the district.
Develops district-specific training.
Develops district HSE communication strategy.
Develops and rolls out district-specific safety plan in conjunction with district management.
Promotes company safety culture through coaching, development, influence, and training.
Subject matter expert and liaison for health and safety for the project team and client.
Prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly goals and tasks for other Safety Supervisors working on the project.
Develop and maintain site specific documentation and templates that include the Site Safety Plan, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Employee Orientation.
Lead safety related discussions at Plan of the Day (POD) Meetings, All Hands Meetings, Tailgate Meetings, Staff Meetings, and Client/Owner Monthly Meetings.
Assist in development of Risk Assessments and Work Instructions.
Deliver training on Safety Initiatives, Employee Orientation, Work Instructions, SMS, and regulatory requirements.
Inspect work areas to verify consistency with procedural, client, and regulatory requirements.
Communicate safety related incidents to Corporate Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) Department, across business unit, and the organization.
Lead Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions.
Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures.
Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings.
Monitor all heavy industrial construction work for compliance with safety requirements.
Implements, supports and sustains site management system.
Develop and conduct safety training for new employees, as well as employee refresher training and contractor training as needed.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal laws, permits, and regulations, as well as Corporate and Plant standards and procedures.
Inspect and examine all health and safety related complaints, workplace accidents, outbreaks of diseases, the spill of hazardous toxins or poison
Search for physical, biological, and chemical workplace hazards
Investigate the construction site to ascertain equipment, production, and material processes do not pose a safety or health hazard to employees, work guests, and the general public
