• Presently working in Saudi Bin Laden Group (O & M) as a Procurement Engineer since15/08/2009, having the following major responsibilities:
➢Technical scrutinizing & Sending RFQs to the corresponding suppliers through e-mail or fax after receiving purchase requests through oracle9i from more than 50 projects on daily basis.
➢Interfaces with requestors from different departments, obtains details on Purchase Requests, including item description, quantity, need by date and delivery location providing catalogs as necessary.
➢Inquire the alternatives based on the item’s specifications in case of non availability of an item requested by the end user.
➢Comparison of QTNs keeping in view the delivery time, cost & material specifications. Clarify the confusions with end user (various sites & projects).
➢Negotiation with suppliers (local or foreign) through telephone, fax, e-mails & face to face meetings.
➢Placing the purchase orders ensuring best quality and price as well as timely delivery to end users within the standard time duration established by the company on different priority basis.
➢Prepares POs and attaches all related documents including quotations, comparison sheets, contract, and emails for signatures.
➢Follow up with suppliers for on time delivery & finance department for payment preparation as per P.O. conditions.
➢Solving the problems if any discrepancy made by suppliers or any changes asked by end user. Also taking care of samples from the sites or from suppliers for different purposes.
➢Update the department with the latest on products and prices, maintaining contact with old suppliers and establishing work relations with new ones.
➢Confers with vendors to obtain product/service information such as price, availability, delivery schedule and discrepancies in quantity or quality.
➢Enters data of non stock items in system; forwards received suppliers’ invoices to the Accounting department for processing.
➢Assigns new codes for newly acquired items; provides the requestor and the item code officer with proper item description when requested.
➢Coordinates with the Freight and Clearance Officer to secure shipping and clearance of international orders within set quality, price and timeline.
➢Keeps the department data updated by maintaining contact with suppliers and end users, and market trends.
➢Immediate response to emergencies & break down issues using personal influence & dealing with suppliers then save all the records in system & make all up to date afterwards.
• Worked in a biggest organization PAKISTAN WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) of Pakistan as Assistant Engineer from Feb 2003 to Aug 2009, having the following major responsibilities:
➢ Operation & maintenance of Wapda transmission (11KV) and distribution (440V) system.
➢ Installation and maintenance of transformers of different capacities.
➢ Construction/extension of high tension (HT) & low tension (LT) lines.
➢ Maintenance of HT/LT lines.
➢ Detection/removal of electrical faults on HT/LT lines and transformers.
➢ Planning/estimation of HT/LT lines of wapda distribution as per load requirement of area.
➢ Planning to reduce the line losses of wapda transmission and distribution system.
➢ Planning/estimation for the installation of new connection to the consumers as per their load requirements.
➢ Planning/estimation for the installation of transformers along with sub-stations.
➢ Testing checking of metering equipment / high tension line / transformers.
➢ Installation/commissioning of HT/LT lines, Transformers, Single Phase & three phase meters.
➢ Planning / estimation for Energy Lost Reduction (ELR) of Wapda distribution system.
