Assisted the Environmental Team responsible for conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
for the engineering projects of the company. EIA is a highly reliable tool which entails the study of the environmental,
social and economic impacts of a project and the provision of mitigation measures to minimize environmental
damages.
• Assessed regulatory compliance against Lebanon's specific requirements of EIA
• Reviewed the existing EIA process undertaken by the company
• Conducted site-visits for potential projects undertaken by the company
• Developed checklists for designated site-visits
• Conducted translations of EIA reports from English to Arabic
• Conducted a draft EIA report for a designated project undertaken by the company

Course modules: Environmental Decision Making (Multi-Criteria Analysis, Life Cycle Assessment, Cost Effectiveness Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment), Water Technology and Management, Environmental Economics, Environmental Law, Environmental Policy and Management, Environmental Pollution and Control, Ecology, Quantitative Skills and Uncertainty, Environmental Policy and Resource Management Integrated Land and Water Management and Environment and Health. Projects: (1) Anglian Water Spring Project: gained experience of the consultancy process through the study of a practical problem typical of water management in collaboration with Anglian Water. Acquired analysis and synthesis skills, the ability to work efficiently in a team and liaising with the customer as well as the production of a concise quality report and a professional oral presentation. (2) Hounslow Heath Project: gained working knowledge of the investigation and assessment of contaminated land site and soil quality, through the study of a contaminated site. Developed skills for site investigation (soil, water and organisms), chemical analysis, data processing, quality control, team working challenges. The project provided insights on the development and design of an environmental geochemical survey, training in risk assessment and its application in environmental assessment.
