• Maintain close contact with EducationUSA and the Egypt Desk at the Department of State, U.S. Embassy Cairo, AMIDEAST/Washington DC, and the Regional Educational Advising Coordinator (REAC) on the administration of the programs.
• Ensure that all AMIDEAST and EducationUSA rules and regulations are being followed and implemented.
• Manage the implementation of the Opportunity Funds, Strategic Funds, and any other grants issued to the AMIDEAST EducationUSA Center by the U.S. Embassy.
• Work with the EducationUSA Advisers in Cairo and Alexandria to develop and implement annual advising and outreach strategic plans.
• Work with the EducationUSA Adviser in Cairo to plan and organize outreach to local high schools, public/private universities, libraries, clubs, fairs and bookstores in order to promote United States higher education in Egypt.
• Develop and monitor program budgets and AMIDEAST department annual budget.
• Develop and update presentations and materials for public information sessions, and tailored presentations for specific outreach events.
• Create and update informational EducationUSA handouts and flyers, and obtain approval from EducationUSA and the AMIDEAST Assistant Country Director for Programs.
• Train and supervise the Education Advisor, interns and volunteers in their work.
• Conduct public information sessions about U.S. education as well as group sessions in specific fields and on particular U.S. study topics such as choosing a career and major, financing your education, putting together a winning application, personal essay writing, and pre-departure orientations.
• Work with partners and guest speakers to offer public sessions on related topics such as U.S. student visas, alumni perspectives, available educational exchange programs, as well as studying law, arts, STEM, business, medicine, pharmacy and dentistry.
• Serve as a liaison with the U.S. Embassy Consular Office regarding student visa sessions and other outreach activities.
• Provide tailored private consultations, assessing students’ qualifications and needs and providing advice on required admissions tests and documents.
• Respond to inquiries from e-mail and walk-ins regarding the American educational system, application procedures in U.S. universities, and other EducationUSA services.
• Organize activities and events for the annual International Education Week.
• Prepare monthly statistics, updates and narrative reports for the REAC and AMIDEAST/Washington DC.
• Promote relevant public events such as the annual Study USA College Fair.
• Work with public and private academic institutions and organizations to distribute information about scholarships and exchange programs.
