To manage the construction of a new ammonia nitrate plant to be built in Karratha of WA for the Client Yara Pilbara in order to start operating and the production early 2015. This is to supply the mining industry with the required explosives.
Main responsibilities:-
Maintain the schedule whilst keeping costs under budget.
Monitor civil works quantities and test records to cost control team.
Advise subcontractor when schedule overruns.
Approve construction methods and strategies for work to meet the baseline schedule.
Monitor Progress and trouble shoot technical problems.
Risk management and taking reasonable steps to avoid surprises.
Monitor team performance based on results.
Liaise with client's Engineers and CM and attend weekly progress meeting.
Liaise with Subcontractors and attend weekly meetings.
Implement safety regulations-ensuring the company safety requirements and system is adhered to by all construction personal. Quality assured steps and methods of testing, and documenting all steps of approved work.
-Liaison with EPC Contractors, Suppliers, Subcontractors
-Construction planning, Equipment, Manpower, Material delivery Monitor Execution and team performance.
-Strictly Follow up of Productivity rates( MH/EqH) for MP & Eq to remain below or within the Budget.
-Monitor Team Performance, Control Variances in Schedule & Cost.
-Implementing high quality standards and managing changes.
-Submission of progress payments.
-Reporting to Operation Director.
-Enhance HSE awareness among Team Members.
-Trouble shooting.
-Liaison with Ministry of Water & Electricity and the Subcontructors
-Review subcontractors planning, and discuss improvement plans
-Compare performances to Baseline Schedules.
-Chairing Weekly progress meetings.
-Follow up legal issues.
-Follow up Insurance claims.
-Releasing of progress payments to subcontractors and insuring that only the work done will be paid for.
Assign Responsibilities for Pipeline projects
QA/QC Plan and monitoring of its implementation
Documentation audits
Health and Safety Planing &its implementation
Client, contractors and suppliers meetings to resolve problems
Material approvals and awareness of Specification requirements. Claims and material supplies audits& Reporting to Director.
Appointed Project Manager for major Water main and storm water contracts in Auckland and suburbs. Managed the quality control, cost control and general contract administrative tasks from tendering to turn key. Liaison with client and keep good working relation with them dealing with suppliers and sub-contractors in a professional manner. Planning and control progress of work . Assign required resources from labour to equipments. submit financial report and progress report to operation manager or director

I have managed successfully a lot of major projects including the construction of 5 oil pump stations in Basrah from 1986-1988. then moved to Manage a 50 Km pipeline in Remaila north of Basrah. I have also constructed structural and pre-engineerd structural steel building through my years of work with the company 1993-1995. A high rise building in Baghdad 1991-1992. and many other maintenance and construction contracts.
