Conduct information literacy classes to all freshman, sophomore, and junior students and new faculty, and staff
Plan and coordinate a structured literacy program for orientation sessions, introductory labs, courses in the liberal arts, sciences and engineering disciplines
Train other librarians and library staff in learning how to create tutorials and instructional materials
Establish a new online interactive Information Literacy (IL) program for approximately 400 TAMUQ students and faculty in science program
Work one-on-one or in small groups with undergraduate students and faculty upon requests
Develop instructional materials; prepare tutorials and handouts for the IL program for each class level
Establish media section for TAMUQ library
Coordinate daily operation of library media section
Establish a plan for acquisition of the library media materials
Establish mission and goals for library media section
Create online video tutorials for some major database for different programs
Create video tutorials for the library’s annual orientation
Convert and upload video materials to the stream server to be used by faculty and students (learning to use a variety of conversion software)
Work in cooperation with Director, TAMUQL in editing and uploading TAMUQ’s materials to TEXAS Digital Library
Use Media Matrix to upload and stream video materials into TAMUQ site
Select and order media materials for the library collection such as educational DVDs, CDs, eBooks, and software
Contact the media vendors and film distributors
Create media program to enhance student learning
provide a conducive learning arena using available media
work with teaching faculty to tie students’ assignment to media to increase their research skills
responsible for archival processing for audio-visual materials
Catalog media materials to facilitate the process of circulation and statistics
Create handouts on how to use available media resources
Assemble and arrange display of media materials
Keep up to date records of circulation and materials, maintain inventory, and correct cataloging errors for media materials
Create policies and procedures related to media materials
Create a public program to attract students and inform them of library media program
Regularly update and evaluate the Information Literacy‘s curriculum, TAMUQ Library websites using RedDot software, tutorials and handouts
Serve as a liaison for Electrical and Computer Engineering Programs
Build collections for Electrical and Computer Engineering Programs
Create advertising, brochures and other marketing materials for Information Literacy activities. Design, develop, establish and/or revise general and database tutorials handouts as needed
Assist library users by answering reference questions, explaining the use of the library resources such as LibCat and Search Now
Provide general and in-depth reference services to TAMUQ faculties, students, and Education City community users
Help locate materials within TAMUQL, explain the use of the library equipment and advise users of library policies and regulations
Assist and explain for TAUMQ faculty the Interlibrary Loan procedures
Assist visitor scholars in their research, and act as a tour guide for outside user such as researchers from Qatar Foundation, RasGas, and Qatar University
Organize and participate in moving and relocation TAMUQ library
Install and configure printers, scanners, microfilm reader, and laminators in the library
Configure and install SciFinder and other databases in TAMUQL computers and faculties personal computers
Configure and install Voyager software (Endeavor Information Systems)
Provide leadership to the library staff and faculty
Plan, organize and manage the services of the Library
Establish goals and measures accomplishments against recognized standards
Prepare and present library budgets
Working on the library budget
Lead TAMUQL weekly meetings and work closely with program coordinators and other departments’ directors
Keep the library policy and procedures up to date
Communicate and work closely with Education City Librarians
Supervise two library faculties and eight staff
Ensure that the TAMUQL provides the needed services and help all users professionally
Monitor the library daily business as well as provide reference services
Conduct two weeks training and hands-on workshop on Information Literacy and E- resource for Qatar University Library staff
