Relationship Manager- Corporate and Offshore Banking
Organization: The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance - Kingdom of Bahrain
Responsibilities & Roles:
• Reporting directly to the Head -Corporate and Offshore Banking;
• Develop the Bahrain market, with focus on medium and large Corporate Clients in Bahrain and GCC area and contribute to achieving a significant increase in the client base with a strong focus on Trade Finance in order to generate profitable business opportunities.
• Plan, organize, manage and control the department activities and resources in order to ensure optimal results.
• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients (both assets and liabilities) relationships in accordance with business strategy, underwriting standards and Bank Credit Policy directives and guidelines;
• Work effectively with customers to deepen relationship with the bank. Build long term relationships with sustainable growth in revenues.
• Achieve assigned level of net revenue from funded and non-funded facilities.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of an effective marketing strategy in order to maintain and increase market share, customer satisfaction, as well as - Develop relationships with key decision makers and owners and achieve set goal targets.
• Explore and maximize cross-sell opportunities for all products across the bank.
• Enhance the depositor base and market liability products.
• Preparing proposals and carrying out credit analysis and structure facilities to be offered to clients based on the clients needs
• Work closely with other banks in Bahrain and GCC as and when required in order to issue bonds for contractor clients.
• Preparation & submission of MIS reports, call reports and other requirements
• Regular review of the portfolio and operate within Risk and Compliance requirements framework.
BMI Bank - Kingdom of Bahrain
Responsibilities & Roles:
• Reporting directly to the AGM/Head -Wholesale Banking;
• Managing a portfolio of corporate clients (both assets and liabilities) relationships in accordance with business strategy, underwriting standards and Bank Credit Policy directives and guidelines;
• Identifying, evaluating and developing new corporate business opportunities to generate incremental relationship revenue along with products;
• Preparing proposals and carrying out credit analysis;
• Assessing by means of financials and other analyses / Risk Assessments all credit proposals requiring to be signed as proposer, to ensure that risks are fully analyzed, addressed and balanced;
• Managing the assigned portfolio to ensure risk issues are highlighted upfront in the manner prescribed in risk policies concerning worry list, EWS (Early warning System for accounts have credit facilities) or classified accounts;
• Undertaking quality reviews of credit facilities with the assigned customers portfolio for timely submission to appropriate approving authority;
• Monitoring and controlling the process of credit facilities and ensuring accurate documentation and process as per the bank’s policies and procedures;
• Responsible for the management and marketing of corporate & commercial services to existing and potential clients in the assigned markets as being the primary point of customer contact.
• Responsible for directing the identification of portfolio risks and the appropriate mitigation of the same by exercising own authorities and span of responsibilities over the team;
• Responsible for the Credit Policy and Process issues including the review and development of MIS for portfolio control and monitoring;
• Plan and execute projects as directed by the Head -WB in respect of policy, process and MIS issues. These include working with Risk Analytics to co-ordinate scorecard development to make the department bookings efficient and help ensure that WB is in line with all credit policies.
• Monitoring and controlling the sale performance of the Relationship officers and tracking progress against business targets to ensure their achievement;
• Supervising, guiding, directing and training subordinates to exhibit high performance levels and to work effectively together as a team;
• Risk & Compliance: Ensuring full compliance with the bank’s policies and procedures;
• Member of the Credit Policy Committee, where the committee reviews the policies of the department on yearly basis and advises on any changes if required.
• Acting Head of SME from October 2011 till January 2012.
