Description The Women’s Political Participation and Gender-Sensitive Poverty Reduction Strategy Project (W3P),
envisaged as a part of a larger National Programme for Women’s Political Participation developed by the
Ministry of Women’s Development (MoWD), was a component of the Gender Equality Umbrella Project
(GEUP). It was a two-year US $ 3million project. The executing/implementing agency for the project was
GEUP, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS); its line agency was the Ministry of Women’s
Development, Social Welfare and Special Education (MoWD), Government of Pakistan; and cooperating
agency was the Economic Affairs Division (EAD), Government of Pakistan. Under this UNDP/NORAD
funded Government of Pakistan's initiative 48, 000 elected women councilors were trained in the country to
acquire skill and knowledge of legislation and good governance. The job of the Research Analyst was to
maintain quality and standardization of training imparted.
