Module Name: Ameriprise OB24 BAU.
Duration: April 2011ToTill Date.
Environment: Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2.
Description: Ameriprise OB24 BAU is a second level production support wherein Mainframe production defects/fixes, enhancement of existing functionality is carried out as per the requirement.
Roles / Responsibilities:
Developer -
o Analysis of existing code to debug/locatearea of defect/enhancement.
o Analysis, Design, Developmentand modification of the code according to the requirements.
o Technical Design, Implementation & Unit Testing.
o Impact analysis of defect fix/enhancement on system/other interfaces.
o Coordination of the Release Processes.
o Validation after the release.
o Coordination with onshore.
o Peer review.
Tester -
o Test case Preparation and Execution for the Unit and System Testing.
o Setting up the System Test environment to run the system test.
o Validation of the system test results.
Module 2:
Module Name: ITASCAPerformance Tuning Day2.
Duration: 1st April 2010 to 31st March 2011.
Environment: Cobol, JCL, VSAM, DB2.
Description: ITASCA (Insurance to annuity system consolidation administration) Phase-1 was built jointly on XAWARE andMainframe platform whereas the built system was not performance efficient thereby arising need of ITASCAPerformance Tuning Day2. As the policy volume increased more than 2000, jobs on the said platforms started to consume unexpected long time thereby missing SLA’s for many interfaces.As a part of this project, many programs on Mainframe were tuned and many were re platformed from XAWARE to Mainframe thereby making the system scalable and performance efficient at 140K policy volume.
Roles / Responsibilities:
Developer -
o Conversion of Cobol-DB2 programs to simple Cobol program for performance and scaleimprovement.
o Requirement gathering and Extraction of business logic from XAWARE platform.
o Preparation oftechnical design, system design and estimation documents.
o Co-ordination with client for requirement clarifications, design discussions.
o Buildcreation of Cobol and JCL codes from scratch.
o Work with the Project Lead to come up with the risk/issue and project execution plan.
o Coordination of the Release Processes.
o Validation after the release.
o Coordination with the different Interface teams.
Tester -
o Test case Preparation and Executionfor the Unit and System Testing.
