20011- 2015: IT department coordinator and IT teacher, I have developed and updated the computer curriculum, arranged for staff IT related training, (e.g., using smart boards in the classrooms, integrating technology into the curriculum, using the school email…), designed school publications, training and mentoring KG and Elementary IT teachers, create and update the yearly curriculum plan, follow up on software and hardware orders. Elementary School (Grades 1- 4)
•As a computer teacher: I developed a new computer curriculum and software plan for elementary. I also designed and supervised a school newspaper team as an extracurricular activity for students.
•As an IT coordinator: I helped with staff training for using MS office software, managed hardware and software maintenance in school, installed, supported and managed educational software and multimedia for KG and elementary teachers, managed and printed report cards and developed classroom materials and school awards.
As a computer teacher: I developed a new computer curriculum for elementary and helped with staff training for using GRADEQUICK and EDLINE. I worked with the school's counselor to develop a discipline plan and organized the student council and other activities for students.
Life Skills Teacher (2001-2002)- Middle School (Character Education)
• The Life skills program introduced a character education curriculum, which was new in Kuwait and it was first offered in ACA. The program was designed to help students to develop critical thinking skills, ethical behavior, healthy life choices and responsible citizenship.
Computer Teacher (2002-2007) - Elementary School (Grades 1-5)
• The computer curriculum was designed to teach students basic computer skills and to integrate technology in other subjects, such as Language arts, Science, Social studies and Math, with different internet activities and educational software.
• I offered computer training to school staff when needed. I also participated, as a presenter with workshops about integrating technology in the classroom, educational web sites and Microsoft Office software, in the professional development program the school offered.
• I was responsible for evaluating and ordering the educational software for elementary school.
• I was a member of the school’s IT committee for developing computer hardware and technology usage in the school.
• I was a member of both committees preparing the life skills curriculum and developing the computer curriculum for CIS/MSA international accreditation.
• During my five years as elementary teacher, I was a member of committees that organized school events such as reading week, sports day, science fair, International day and end of year celebrations. I also designed invitation cards, certificates and events’ programs and designed PowerPoint slideshows for different school events.
• I participated in two fundraising events for school Playground equipment. I also organized and presented different workshops for western staff about Kuwaiti culture and Islam as a part of the school orientation for new staff.
• I was a member of one of the strategic planning committees that ACA started in 2005 to develop the school's system and achieve the school's mission of statement within five years.
