Dunedin Facilities Management, Steward at Dunedin Facilities Management
  • United Kingdom
  • August 2008 to July 2013

August 2008 - Present: Dunedin Facilities Management, Steward \nTo fund myself through University, I also work part time as a steward. I am responsible for the safety and wellbeing of customers, as well as for maintaining the integrity of my workplace. I have undertaken specialist training in handling potentially disruptive and hostile situations in the workplace, as well as being fully qualified in First Aid. I feel that my role as a steward has enabled me to deal with difficult situations more efficiently and has equipped me with the ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

Dusk, Project Manager at Events
  • United Kingdom
  • April 2011 to July 2013

April 2011 - Present: Dusk, Project Manager (Events) \nI am responsible for a team of 15 people, and lead the effort to develop and implement marketing strategies for Dusk. Day to day, this involves liaising with manufacturers and various third parties to deliver innovative Events to Dusk's clients at a competitive rate for the company.

Team Leader at The Freedom Foundation Trust Charity
  • Malawi
  • May 2007 to August 2008

May 2007 - August 2008: The Freedom Foundation Trust Charity (Malawi) \nI was a supervising team member for Freedom Foundation Trust, Malawi, which involved coordinating the distribution of food, clothing and medicine across various regions of the county. This role was demanding as it involved morally prioritising materials for families in desperate need using the limited resources provided by the charity. Furthermore I was involved in conducting research alongside the charity in the village of Balaka, which analysed the rate of Secondary Education completion amongst young females. As the results proved low primarily due to a lack of funds, I took it upon myself to organise fundraising which contributed towards funding for two young women in Higher Education in the region of Balaka. \n \n \nInterests and Achievements \nSport: I proudly captained the Stirling University American football team (the Stirling Clansmen) and delivered them to the national cup final. Last season was a particularly successful year as we reached our goal in becoming Scottish Divisional champions and reached the final of the BUAFL play-offs. \n \nMy biggest sporting achievement thus far has been being scouted to represent Great Britain in American Football. Although I was unable to take my place in the team due to my nationality, I greatly enjoyed the opportunity this presented to train with some of Britain's top athletes.
