Mission was successfully accomplished upon the signature of 4 mega Government contracts valued more than SR 2.5 Billion Riyals that include the design, construction and lunch to space of the Saudi Communication Satellite SGS-1 in addition to strategic partnership agreements between the Saudi Government (KACST) and ARABSAT and a trio agreement between KACST, Taqnia and Lockheed Martin to establish a joint venture in Saudi Arabia with the aim of Satellite technology and expertise transfer to the Kingdom.
