Providing advice and support to the National Directorates and Local Education Training Boards, in particular the provision of a comprehensive, expert financial planning service covering all aspects of budget setting, medium term forecasting and linking with workforce planning.

Working with Health Education England Finance and Non Finance teams and with Key External Stakeholders such as the Department of Health I am a key member of the Financial Strategy Senior Team.

Duties include:

• Horizon scanning to identify future cost pressures and strategic issues that will impact on HEE’s overall financial position and ensure colleagues in LETBs include these in local plans appropriately

• Ensure financial plans are accurately reported, in a timely manner, by LETBs to provide assurance on the affordability of the workforce plan.

• Ensure reporting mechanisms are appropriately developed and maintained to deliver efficient and accurate information and reporting to HEE and DH with respect to consolidated financial plans.

• Develop relationship with Information & Intelligence and workforce planning colleagues to ensure cohesive approach to production and review of information that has financial implications.

• Input into the budget distribution process of HEE’s allocation to the LETBs in an equitable and transparent manner.

• Work with external stakeholders including DH, Student Bursary Unit (SBU), Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) and others with respect to financial planning.
