As a Group Internal Auditor, I am responsible for managing the internal audits of following businesses of Galadari Group;

- Galadari Ice cream - Sole distributor and retailer of Baskin Robbins in United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman & Jordan

- Galadari Trucks & Heavy Equipment - Retail of multiple Heavy Equipment brands such as Komatsu, JCB, BOMAG etc. Parts and Service Workshop across UAE.

- Galadari Automobiles - Retail of Mazda Automobiles, Parts and Service Workshops across UAE, Ziebart and Rent A Car Operations)

- Galadari Industrial Division - Steel Fabrication, Rubber lining jobs.

Core responsibilities include:
• Preparation of risk based audit plan (detailing the scope, nature and timing of audit activities) based on the risk assessment and potential exposures that may affect the Group’s ability to accomplish its objectives.
• Examining and evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the Group’s internal control systems and procedures and recommending corrective actions to improve operations, enhance internal controls and reduce costs where possible.
• Sharing better corporate/industry practices across business units and striving for acceptable control environment.
• Exhibiting leadership skills needed to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.
• Assisting Head of Group Internal Audit on Fraud investigations or Special Projects as required.
• Maintaining effective business relationships within the Group.

Senior Consultant at EY

Worked as a Senior Consultant in Risk Advisory Services of Ernst & Young Pakistan. Key responsibilities included:
• Preparing client winning business proposals in line with RFP.
• Planning and execution of assignments including performing risk assessment and development of risk based audit plans, preparing / reviewing process documentations / flow charts, risk & control matrix, audit test program and working papers.
• Supervising projects and maintaining client relationships including kick-off and exit meetings, conflict management, on-ground support to project teams and communication / presentation of project deliverable to the Senior Management and Board Audit Committees
• Development of professional staff through periodic performance appraisals and counselling workshops.

Internal Audits & Internal Control Reviews
Successfully supervised internal audit and internal control projects for multiple clients encompassing the following activities:
• Risk-based planning, supervision of services to clients including delegating responsibilities to team members;
• Evaluation of the organizations’ risk and control environment and the effectiveness of underlying controls on business process and sub process levels;
• Overall supervision of the internal audit activity including review of working papers and providing technical/ administrative support to project teams; and
• Drafting audit reports or other deliverables for discussion of audit findings with Senior Management and Board.

Policies and Procedures Documentation
Developed polices and procedural manuals of entire business operations for clients in 3 different sectors (Steel Processing, Packaging and Hospitals and Higher Education). Key activities include:
• Understanding and confirming the existing system and control mechanism over different activities or processes;
• Documentation (flow charting / narratives) of To-Be processes and activities including the company’s policies and mapping the controls with in it;
• Conducted workshops / trainings for the employees of the company on the documented policies and procedures
