Al Jazea Industrial Group is a Saudi industrial group that includes five factories, two commercial companies, and a holding company.

The group consists of two foundries that produce cast iron, ductile, and steel products. A chemical factory that produces concrete admixtures, epoxy, and other construction related products. A Polyethylene Factory specialized in HDPE and PPE pipes and fittings. An electrical factory specialized in Low and Medium voltage electrical panels. A commercial petrol company specialized in running petrol stations. And finally a Metal trading company. In addition surely to the holding company owning all of the factories and companies above.

The company operates as a closed shareholding company, with a paid up Capital of 45M KSA, and a 160M KSA turnover.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO I initiated and lead activities and projects aiming at reshaping the group and improving its operations in several aspects including turnover, profits, MRP, IT, marketing and efficiency.

Although of the short period I have been with the group, we were able to make several leaps in various fields related to the business, especially in profits which increased by 32% last year despite the very difficult situation in the KSA market during 2015 resulting from the severe drop in oil prices. The fields I worked in also included improving the IT structure, automation and integration, developing a new corporate image and increasing efficiency.

My main tasks and responsibilities include the followings:

• Overseeing the financial operations of the group.
• Managing the relations with banks.
• Overseeing the purchasing department and MRP
• Overseeing the sales department and turnover
• Establishing and overseeing an IT department
• Managing the relationship with auditors
• Financial and Management reporting
• Feasibility studies and heading negotiation and collaboration with international partners regarding new investment opportunities
• Consultation to the CEO in various fields related to the business
• Overseeing the process of developing a new corporate identity for the groups
• Overseeing the process of integrating and merging the accounting systems of group companies
• Increasing the finance department efficiency and dropping its HR cost by more than 20% in the first year.

Using its fleet of 62 distribution trucks, Spinneys distributed about 1, 000 products for about 37 foreign and local agencies. This project improved efficiency for many operations and eliminated supporting programs by using the ERP system in all major company activities including and not limited to Finance, Billing, Accounts Receivable Management, Accounts Payable Management, Fixed Assets, Payroll, MRP “Material Requisitioning Planning”, cash flow, reporting, cash management, etc…
