Working as a Senior Associate, I lead teams of various sizes throughout the different stages of statutory audits and other special purpose reporting assignments and my main responsibilities and achievements include:
- Participating in meetings with the Engagement Manager and Leader for defining strategies to mitigate audit risks
- Organizing client meetings with senior management to discuss the scope of the audit during the planning phase
- Responsible for preparing budgets for audit assignments and monitoring team’s performance on a weekly basis
- Identifying key audit risks and assessing the impact on the audit approach and financial statements of the entity
- Supervising the work of team members and providing them with guidance and adequate coaching
- Assisting client’s management in preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP
- Managing special purpose reporting assignments including quarterly tax returns for submission to the Ministry of Economy (UAE), stock count assignments and special component reporting for group audits
- Providing excellent client service through effective coordination and efficient engagement management; advising client’s management on complex accounting issues
- Evaluation of internal control systems as part of the audit procedures; identifying control weaknesses and preparing presentations with proposed recommendations for the Board of Directors and Audit committee
- Exposure and clear understanding of key business processes and cycles in various industries including the aviation sector, logistics, real estate sector, construction and local and multinational automobile companies

My main assignments at KPMG included the following:
Abraaj capital
- Worked on a pre deal acquisition assignment of Manan-Shahid & Co; performed a feasibility study of the investment for Abraaj Capital
- Study included a detailed research over the company’s products, services and profit levels for the past 5 years
- Prepared future projections of the entity by analysing historical financial results and performed ratio analysis by identifying relationships between key drivers of the business; compiled the information in the form of a
presentation for Abraaj Capital with a recommendation of the viability of the acquisition
Pepsi Co
- Assisted in the implementation of a new automated inventory process in PepsiCo by conducting cyclical inventory observations and tying it up with the inventory module and reporting to top management
Defence Housing Society Lahore
- Headed a team of 5 people for the successful implementation of a fixed assets policy manual in line with IFRS
- Achieved 3rd Position in ACCA Core examination papers in Pakistan - Awarded highest marks in Financial reporting and Information systems strategy papers by ACCA in Pakistan - Received the British Council High Achievers Award in 2005
