* Manage and guide implementation of NOSA SHE Management System
* Develop and implement enterprise wide risk management

* Oversee safety compliance by all contractors working on our sites/stations

o Ensuring that all contractors have safety plans approved by myself
before obtaining site access
o All contractors have safety files in each site
o Appointing relevant inspectors to conduct special compliance
inspections on sites
o Carry out random site inspections, attend certain safety meeting
organised by the contractors, approve method statements on certain
activities not fully detailed in the safety plan
o I am a member of the tender adjudication committee - initial scrutiny
for SHE compliance start at this stage
o Project hand-over inspection (part of the team)
ACHIEVEMENTS
* Nomination as a Project Champion for Safety Benchmarking Project for
PRASA. The intention was to identify gaps in risk management system in all
regions in South Africa, carry out international comparison, and develop
implementation strategy to bridge the gap
* Achieved a NOSA 5 Platinum Stars for KZN Region. This was the first
achievement in over 50 years of running a NOSA 5 Star System in
Transnet/PRASA Metrorail
* Establish partnership with Community Courts to deal with juveniles and other
community members who commit crimes classified as petty crimes against
Metrorail services
