We work on BIM SIG for urban planning. The case studies are the Gated Communities and the Introverted residential enclaves in Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM).
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
I am interested by the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and transport infrastructure. Also, the modeling of mobility and urban phenomena, the management of databases and urban planning using Building Information Modeling (BIM technology) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
In addition, I am interested by Geomatics, Remote Sensing, spatial analysis, Urban Heat Island and any kind of mapping.
Teaching Urban Information Systems and spatial reference land management.
Geographic Databases Modeling and processing. Thematic mapping.
Help students to acquire skills in Urban Spatial Information Systems and digital mapping.
Help students to develop skills in graphic communication. Various applications of analytical tools and management in a case study. Example: the Green Corridor project in Vaudreuil-Soulanges (Quebec City) and TOD evaluation (Montreal)
The development of a training session in a survey's format using Turning Technologies in order to evaluate the current situation of Hydro-Quebec vis-a-vis the best uses of Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes. Thereby, we have developed a new approach, Building LifeCycle Modeling (BLM).
Realisation of a socioeconomic profile for the MRC of Vaudreuil-Soulanges (a city in Quebec) using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
The assistance of three important courses in urban planning:
• URB 1411 - Géomatique et urbanisme (Geomatics and Planning)
• URB 2414 - Représentation et modélisation spatiale (Representation and spatial modeling)
• URB6288 - Gestion du territoire et géomatique (land management and Geomatics)
• Teaching ArcGIS 10 and AutoCAD 2012 software.
• Monitoring the student works and preparation practical work.
Responsibilities
• Visit the site at regular intervals during the construction of the Works in order to inspect the quality of the work (including samples, mock ups and off site tests as required) and to monitor progress and ensure that the works are executed in accordance with the Works Information and in accordance with good practice;
• Prepare information regarding design, specifications, materials and equipment;
• Estimate costs and schedules and other elements associated with construction projects;
• Direct the production of construction documents, drawings, and specifications;
• Develop budgets and schedules to meet project objectives as well as value engineering principles;
• Organize client and team meetings;
• Coordinate schedules and workloads;
• Review architectural documents for potential conflict with all disciplines.
Realizations
• Building Envelope Renovation of several Magistrates courts;
• Design and site supervision of residential Bldgs for "the Office of the property development and management";
• Design and site supervision different post offices and commercial Bldgs;
• Extension for individual houses; expertise work (demolition permit).
Teaching courses of computer aided design (CAD).
Architect Trainee: obligatory in order to get the architect agreement.
Project: Stadium 1400 capacity. In collaboration with the other members of the Project Team, I provided professional assistance to the Project Manager in administering the terms of the building contract, during operations on site and relating to the completion of the Works.
• Responsibilities
• Management and control of all on-site construction activities;
• Ensuring that all drawings, instructions, and/or activity plans used as the basis of activities on site are reasonably compliant with the interface requirement established in the approved Interface Management Plan;
• Ensuring strict adherence by all site personalities to the quality assurance policies and procedure as defined in the approved Quality Assurance Plan;
• Ensuring the progress of the Works remains on schedule, and that the schedule accurately reflects the actual state of progress;
• Preparation of final as-built drawings which also reflects the changes at the site.
An excellent Masters project at University of Montreal, (2010, 2012) We have studied the phenomenon of the Gated communities and the introverted residential enclaves in four territories, Canada, Mexico, France and USA. My master’s thesis was graded excellent, from 5 - 10% better in 2012.
