Main responsibilities include:
•Approve applications for financing received from NAs and ensure compliance with ATFP’s eligibility criteria;
•Review Lines of Credit agreements (LOCs) to be signed with NAs;
•Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly reports to the Board of Directors on financing activities;
•Prepare the department’s annual budget for financing activities;
•Analyze and update country ceilings based on recent available credit reports and risk developments;
•Communicate and meet with NAs’ representatives to discuss issues related to cooperation with ATFP and suggest new financing solutions that satisfy their needs;
•Participate in the development of new financing products "Mudaraba and Guarantee"; and
•Draft the rules and procedures for new financing products.
Additional marketing and development responsibilities
•Represent ATFP in conferences and seminars organized by ATFP and other governmental institutions in Arab member countries. "Central Banks and Ministries of Finance";
•Represent ATFP in the annual meetings of the Coordination Committee of Arab Financing and Guarantee Institutions;
•Visit member countries i.e., Bahrain, Sudan, Libya, Tunis and Morocco to activate the relationship between ATFP and national agencies in these countries and encourage them to make use of the facilities we provide in an efficient and effective way;
•Responsible for the coordination between ATFP and other international and regional leading financial institutions "International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID)" to explore cooperation opportunities and benefit from their experience in developing new financing products; and
•Responsible for the coordination between ATFP and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to launch ATFP’s own "Trade Facilitation and Guarantee Program".
•Responsible for the preparation of the credit analysis reports for banks and financial institutions appointed by ATFP as national agencies in various Arab countries. These reports include the recommendation for credit lines to be submitted to the credit committee according to the methodology set and approved by ATFP's board of directors;
•Follow-up and review of interim reports issued by the banks to maintain our records, and where necessary update the Credit Committee of relevant developments;
•Prepare ad-hoc reports on country specific banking sectors and review of recent banking developments;
•Occasionally attend the credit committee meetings for discussion of reviewed banks in context of country specific market trends and developments; and
•Responsible for training new staff (Assistant Credit Analysts).
•Post all entries related to settlements and drawdowns from lines of credit facilities;
•Post and reconcile transactions involving ATFP's investment portfolios managed by the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF) and external fund managers;
•Prepare reconciliation of bank accounts in dollars and replenishment of bank account in dirham based on a schedule of future disbursements;
•Prepare daily accounting entries and assist in the preparation of annual budget and monthly financial reports: cash flow, income statement and balance sheet;
•Follow-up local purchase orders (LPO’s), suppliers' accounts, analyze and post purchase invoices; and
•Member of the committee responsible for the development, testing and application of the new automated-oracle based "Line of Credit Management System".
•Prepare payment documents related to drawdowns from lines of credit;
•Prepare drawdown confirmations from lines of credit;
•Prepare interest rate advices applicable on drawdowns from lines of credit;
•Prepare maturity reminder advice and follow up the settlement of drawdown amounts as they become due; and
•Prepare monthly reports on lines of credit activities.
